EXCLUSIVE! Jennifer Hudson’s Son Has A WWE-Themed First Birthday Party — Wants To Be Just Like His Wrestler Dad!

David Daniel Otunga Jr. turned 1 on August 10 — and already he’s following in his dad, pro wrestler David Otunga’s, manly footsteps! Check out the details of his fabulous first fete here!

Little David Otunga Jr. is turning out to be more like dad, pro wrestler David Otunga, than he is his songbird mom, Jennifer Hudson. The tiny tot celebrated his first birthday August 10 with a wrestling-themed party – totally paying tribute to his proud papa!

“[My son's] birthday was a whole wrestling themed birthday. He had a wrestling ring built out of a jumping castle that had ropes on it saying ‘Raw’ on one side and ‘Smackdown’ on the other,” Jen’s fiance boasted to HollywoodLife.com exclusively at WWE’s Summerslam & MDA’s event in Hollywood August 13. “It was huge,” he added. “Adults were in it! I got him an exact replica costume that I have. I had my seamstress make the same trunks I have, including the Nexus arm band, the hoodie and jeans.”

Aw! Bless. The wrestler, 30, added that he and Jen, 28, gave away the family photo they had had made as party favors at the fete.

David also mentioned his truly terrible performance on Lopez Tonight August 1 – he sang Jennifer’s iconic Dreamgirls song “I’m Telling You I’m Not Going” very, very badly -  laughing that while there’s no hope he’ll ever be a singer, it’s still possible for his son. “When I first did my rehearsal for it, [Jennifer] was like ‘Oh no, no – your notes are all over the place.’ She was hitting me up with all the critiques, but she told me you  have to go out there and give it your all. You’re going to be bad, so do your best. Put your heart into it.”

Trust us, he did! Check out his performance below!

OMG that is some of the worst American Idol try-out singing I’ve ever heard !!! Let’s see Simon Cowel in the ring with David Otunga though, for sending Jennifer home.
Sweet story…I’m glad Jennifer Hudson got her 2 guys !

What a great read!! Thats the cutest thing ever…as a girl that grew up with ‘boy’ cousins that LOVED wrestling – the whole concept holds a sweet place in my heart…

It’s so much better to go with a wrestling theme after his dad rather than dressing him up as a ‘Dreamgirl’ and making him sing to his guests.

WWE RULES!
