Taylor Momsen says she’s sick of people confusing pop for rock and that SHE’s the real deal. Excuse us while we snort with laughter.
Taylor Momsen continues to make outrageous, provocative and annoying comments in an attempt to prove that she’s truly a hardcore rocker — and this time she’s throwing Rihanna under the bus.
“People think pop is rock, and the lines are getting blurred. Now Rihanna’s wearing fuckin’ leather jackets, and it’s really annoying,” the 17-year-old Gossip Girl-turned-bad girl told Spin magazine.
When asked what sparked Taylor’s envelope pushing (and inappropriate) song lyrics for her band, The Pretty Reckless, she wouldn’t get specific…but alluded to living a rough life.
“I’ve had a lot of bad experiences, and whether that’s from sex or drugs or something else, they are adult experiences that would fuck anyone up,” she said.

Whether or not Rihanna is a ‘poser’ Taylor is a poser herself and shouldn’t be a hypocrite about it.
“I don’t want to be Courtney Love, I want to be Kurt Cobain”. Her music is a ‘Hole’ rip-off as well as her music and videos.
The girl is going to fall flat on her face and no one will help her up because she’s burning all of her bridges.

I actually agree with what Taylor said, rihanna is a “poser”. She fake pays guitars, flips the devil horns, sings about being a rock star when in fact she is pop. And about her being jealous of rihanna’s success, who knows? but this is her first time out of the gate so I don’t know where she will end up in a few years…maybe she will be bigger, or maybe she’ll give up on music? She may not be jealous, she just may not like Rihanna as an artist.
Taylor is very young and really does think she knows everything, but her music is good, she is talented(writing, playing and singing surprisingly well). Alot of people who now consider themselves fans of Rihanna probably didn’t even know she existed 4 years ago, probably thinking GGGB was her first cd, not her third…so you never know where someone’s career will end up.

People that take the art of music seriously don’t have to talk about how great they are constantly, or how ‘real’ their rock music is. I’ve heard her music, its not all that great. And mature people don’t half to talk down about anyone to prove how ‘tough’ or grown up they are. If she was a real artist, she’d make her music and be done with it. She doesn’t have to talk about others to make it better.

listen I like rhiannas music. I like her hard core stuff. but I cant tell what type of singer she is? is she pop, hip hop, rock? all of it? Shes got this goth rock look going on. It’s about time some called Rihanna out… Rihanna’s a marketing gimmick. She sings POP music, not ROCK music. She hasn’t really done anything that different from anything female rock artists have been doing for years… but everyone’s calling her a fashion icon for wearing leather, donning a mohawk, and wearing bondage clothing. Rihanna didn’t create the mohawk, she just brought it back… Technically she is a poser… she sings hip hop and r/b she’s NOT a rock artist. She doesn’t sing rock music. That’s probably what Taylor is referring to. Rihanna has stole alot of her whole fashion ideas from an artist called Fefe Dobson. She claimed they were friends, then Riyonce suddenly became this rock wannabe (Dobson) who still sings r/b and hip hop, Dobson called her out for it for stealing her wardrobe to her tatoos. Gross. I’d take Momsen anyday. I see where she’s coming from.

I think she is just jealous of Rihanna’s sucess. People who are rockers or whatnot dont go around bragging that they are. They just are. She has to try to be that way and well, comes off looking like a street hooker. Its like people who are truly smart. Those people dont tell others how smart they are, they just are.
She reminds me of Keisha. She says sh*t about all these other artist because they know they are a flash in the pan. Secretly they want to be these people, dont have the talent and so they attack. Pretty typical behavior.
