Bonnie Asks: Jennifer Aniston, What Were You Thinking When You Said ‘Retard’ On ‘Regis & Kelly?’ Didn’t You Learn From Obama’s Mistake?

Jen, you’d better apologize quickly! The president recently landed himself in hot water for doing the same thing you did Aug. 19 on Regis & Kelly!

Jennifer Aniston, we watched your interview on Live with Regis and Kelly on Aug. 19 — and we were SHOCKED when we heard you use the word “retard!” While talking about your Barbra Streisand-inspired photo shoot for Harper’s Bazaar, Regis Philbin said, “So you got to play dress up,” to which you responded, “Yeah, I got to play dress up. … I do it for a living, like, retard.” Jen, not only is this word totally unacceptable for anyone to use, but President Obama just recently got in trouble for comparing his bowling skills to competitors in the Special Olympics. Did you learn NOTHING from that?

We’re just waiting for mental disability organizations — such as the ARC (Association for Retarded Citizens) and non-profit website R-Word.org — to jump all over your major, insensitive blunder. For someone who constantly does interviews and KNOWS that people hang on your every word, you’d think you’d be a little more careful when choosing your words.

Gosh, I’m so tired of sensitive people. Stop being so sensitive! People slip up and say things that might seem offensive sometimes. Doesn’t mean you have to get all “Argle, Bargle. Flim Flam.” over it. Because she didn’t mean it in a cruel way. I’m sure all of you say things in your normal conversations that could be seen as offensive. So stop being so sensitive and get over yourselves. No one owes YOU an apology for offending YOU.
