Pin-thin? Scary skinny? Forget it! Kim Kardashian – who’s definitely not a teensy little thing – is a total bombshell who isn’t at all apologetic for her feminine curves. The 29-year-old Keeping Up with the Kardashians starlet opens up in the Sept. issue of Allure magazine about posing for Playboy…even though she’s far from being a food-deprived supermodel.

“It’s nothing that I regret — being on the cover of Playboy is very iconic,” Kim says. “I was like, ‘OK, I’m proud to do this and to show people that I don’t have to be stick-skinny to be looked at as a sex symbol, and to me that’s not what’s attractive anyway.’ So I was all for it, although I was very nervous.”

Although voluptuous girls seem to be a rarity nowadays in Hollywood, iconic beauties like Sophia Loren and Marilyn Monroe were hailed as sex goddesses in the ‘60s and ‘70s. Today, musical artists, such as Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna and Beyonce, embrace their big booties – as do most of the men in America.

If only more women in the public eye would speak out more regularly about their happiness at being a healthy weight, perhaps then young girls would feel less pressure to starve themselves. If we stop praising women who are too thin, perhaps we can gradually return to a healthy societal standard.
