Who looked gorgeous and who needed more time in the makeup chair? Read on!

OK, so now it’s time for everyone’s favorite part: who made the grade and who didn’t when it came to last night’s beauty looks. Who deserved a statue for their makeup and beauty look and who deserved to be sent back to the stylist’s chair? Here are my personal votes:

Best Beauty Look of the Night goes to Claire Danes. This is kind of like what happened to Charlize Theron the night she accepted her Oscar for Monster: extended time in an unattractive state equals a full-on glamour moment when it’s time to pick up that well-deserved statue. Claire’s golden goddess moment with sunkissed hair, a deftly-defined eye complete with look-at-me lashes framed by soft blonde hair? Major hotness and my vote for her all-time personal best.

Lea Michele get the Best New Star Style award for seemingly channeling Brigitte Bardot with tousled hair, a sleek cat eye and beautiful pink pout. This is a fantastic date night look, ladies: touchable, approachable and flat-out sexy.

The Most Improved Beauty (possible of all time) look goes to Kelly Osbourne. Admit it: have you EVER seen Ozzy and Sharon’s kid look this svelte, glamorous or put together? The spiral bob, the barely-there makeup, perfect natural skin: her look was sheer perfection.

Honorable mentions go to Sofia Vergara, Keri Russell, Kim Kardashian and Rutina Wesley.

Now, for the not-so-great moments as far as beauty went…

The winner of the Trying Too Hard category is Dianna Agron. Her textured updo was too severe, especially when paired with the tiered lace dress she wore. Even though I assume she was attempting to go old school, this look just read old.

In the Didn’t Try Hard Enough category, we have January Jones with that flyaway bob. May I suggest something to tame said flyaways…like a brush? Let’s add Juliana Margulies in here for good measure.

The Scary Hair and Makeup award has to go to Damages star Rose Byrne. Loved the Grecian goddess dress but the Bride of Frankenstein shock of curls and overly dramatic eye makeup were so severe…and weird…and unnecessary.

Finally, the Total Hot Mess award from last night goes to Julia Ormond. I know bed head was a look that was purposely derived last night but you don’t have to look like you literally took a nap in your dress, woke up, slapped on some eyeliner in the limo and hit the carpet. Save the Walk of Shame look for after the after party, not during the ceremony itself.

What are your thoughts? Do you agree on who made the cut and who needed a little more time with their glam squad? Do tell in the comments section! Want to hear your thoughts!
