BREAKING NEWS! Toys Beat Vampires At The Summer Box Office!
Rob and Taylor may be cute, but the pair were no match for America’s original heartthrob — Barbie!
After a summer that drew out superstar movie turns from Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Downey Jr., and the Twilight trifecta of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner, it was the film with zero star power that won the summer box office — Toy Story 3! The New York Times reports that with a current take of $405 million, the kids flick beat out Iron Man 2 ($312 million) and The Twilight Saga : Eclipse ($298 million) for number one at the American box office.
Not to be left out, other strong films this summer included The Karate Kid, Inception, Salt, and Grown-Ups.

Well, all the families are going to bring their kids to Toy Story 3. It was a fantastic movie, but my personal favorite film of the summer would have to be Inception. Original and intriguing story, great cast of characters, amazing action sequences and effects, and even the score was incredible. Plus, I’d take any of the guys in that film over any of the dudes in the Twilight franchise ANY day. ;)

uhhhh…this is hardly news. Toy Story dominated the summer by a long shot. Adults and kids alike are interested in it because Pixar is amazing that way in terms of entertaining both groups. Eclipse mainly attract women, you can’t get a man to see the twilight franchise to save their lives. But despite that fact, Eclipse did very well with the summer competition.
