Angelic Angelina Jolie Takes Time Out Of Her Busy Schedule To Visit Flood Victims In Pakistan!
How does Angelina always manage to be so incredibly selfless? The mom of six visited Pakistan after the country was devastated by a terrible flood — it’s so wonderful to see her always helping others!
Angelina Jolie is more dedicated than ever to helping those in need. The Hollywood icon was spotted in Pakistan on Sept. 7 helping victims of the flood that killed more than 1,700 people in the Middle Eastern country.
Angelina, who is a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations, went to lift the spirits of the Afghan and Pakistani refugees in the northwestern province of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
Unfortunately, the country has only received two-thirds of the amount needed to give assistance to the flood victims — but Angelina was there to raise awareness.
We don’t know how Angelina manages to act, raise children AND save the world! It truly is remarkable and inspiring — don’t you agree?

Angelina uses her mega starpower to direct the media gaze to those areas of the world where the people have no voice. As Johnny Depp observed, Angelina is under the constant gaze of the paparazzi, he doubts he could survive this close scrutiny….hence arguments that her work with the UN are aimed to draw attention to herself lack any logic. The UN have reported she has made far more covert trips as amabassador than publicised, her dedication is evident. As the highly intelligent gal she is, it’s not lost on her that alerting the media to some trips will draw the ubiquitous gaze of the media to the desperate plight of the refugees and those victims of man-made and natural disasters. Kitty, narcissiscm as defined by the DSM-1V, is more evident in those Hollywood pseudo celebs whose fragile ego requires constant stroking, a narcissist couldn’t sustain Ange’s ability to graciously ignore the negative slants that colour every activity she pursues. She’s one cool lass and has earned her stripes.

I think she went because she and Brad are fighting so much and she wanted to get away from all the yelling, fighting children in her brood. What will she achieve that victim aid isn’t doing already unless she parts with some of her personal millions – it’s just a show and because the UN wanted to bring attention to the area.

Sugar, you don’t know anything. She goes because the UN sends her to bring attention to these causes. This disaster is not getting heard. That’s why she’s there. And she has also donated her own money to the cause as well. She’s NOT a “disaster tourist” She could be out partying like all the other Hollywood celebs. Instead, she’s trying to do something to make things better. Instead of cutting people down, you should consider doing likewise.

Oh, but I do know about this type of situation. I spent a couple years working in similar situations. YOU don’t know what you are talking about. When these celebrites, or high value targets, travel to unstable locations they require a number of security people to risk their lives to keep the visitor safe. This can distract from the mission on the ground more than the perceived benefit. She could call attention to the problem by going on CNN sometimes instead of the personal photoop visit.

Suuuuure you know what you’re talking about. That’s WHY you are on an unrelated gossip site! Major eye roll. Seems more like you’re trying to make Jolie look bad for her efforts. I DOUBT anything an actress does is that big of a deal, as you make it seem. All she’s doing is asking for more aid. What a crime! Give me a friggin’ break. Now go back to your charity work-haha.

I read gossip sites because it is entertaining. I made a comment on an article that was posted. In fact I have spent time overseas on humanitarian projects.
Kelly, you don’t read the news apparently. Last month 10 western doctors working in Afghanistan were stopped by Taliban and executed while travelling between villages. When the devastation first occurred from the Pakistan floods, the Taliban repeatedly said that all foreign aid workers would be targetted. Yes, the Taliban operates in Pakistan. Security is a big issue for all foreign aid workers in this area due to the threat. Why would Jolie be a target you ask – she’s a well-known western female movie star – the anthesis of how they want women to act in their culture.

Anybody who reads the news knows this is an unprecendented disaster and the US is sending AID. Do we really need Jolie to go there to “call attention” to the situation or does SHE need to go there to call attention to herself and fill some internal hole.
She is a disaster tourist IMO. Whenever she goes to places that is unsecure her presence requires an unknown number of security personnel to risk their lives to provide security during her Photo-Op visit.
Kudos for her wanting to get involved but she doesn’t have to personnally visit EVERY global disaster to “call attention to it”. Let the security folks focus of people who are ESSENTIAL to the mission.
