Lady Gaga’s newest pic and Rihanna’s controversial tat are just the latest examples of celebs pushing the envelope of bad taste. From Taylor’s pantless onstage performances to Miley’s see-thru tops, here are some other celebs whose bad taste goes too far!

Constant envelope pusher Lady Gaga is at it again, this time on the cover of Vogue Hommes Japan wearing nothing but a meat bikini while Rihanna hit the beaches of Hawaii showing off her new tattoo — of a gun! With all this behavior becoming more and more prevalent among Hollywood stars one wonders, when does bad taste go too far?

The bad taste epidemic does not stop with Lady Gaga and Rihanna either — in fact everyone from Taylor Momsen and Miley Cyrus to Venus Williams and Snooki seems to have been caught in the act. What is motivating these girls to behave this way though?

Hollywood media image consultant Michael Sands puts it the most simply; “Hollywood has lost its class.”

These girls may be pushing the envelope with their trashy and barely there outfits, but that isn’t bothering them. “They have something that’s working for them and they’re not gonna change it up quite yet,” says Michael.

“First and foremost, more than anything else in media, it’s not about substance anymore its more about style,” explains psychologist and Dad Camp star Dr. Jeff Gardere. “You may have some that are very talented like Gaga for instance and some that are not so talented like some people on reality shows, because they know that any kind of outrageous behavior is rewarded. It’s not talent that gets publicity, it’s the wild behavior.”

The response to these acts may be the biggest boost to the popularity of these stars. Lady Gaga’s meat look elicited a strong and immediate reaction from PETA president Ingrid Newkirk who said in a statement, “Oh, Lady Gaga’s job is to do outlandish things, and this certainly qualifies as outlandish because meat is something you want to avoid putting on or in your body.”
