The second episode of Nikita is more intense than the last and is filled with flashbacks of Alex’s depressing druggie past!
WOW! Nikita continues to make it’s mark as the CW’s version of Alias in the second episode, “2.0,” that aired Sept. 16. Filled with gun fire, flashbacks, cat fights and drug usage, the show pushes the envelope of what’s accepted on network TV…I can’t believe how intense it’s already gotten! Here are my six immediate reactions to the second ep…
- I’m so happy Alex (Lindsy Fonseca) isn’t a junkie anymore. In the flashback scenes where she’s at the crack house, I couldn’t watch without cringing. She looks better with brushed hair.
- Although subtleties are not the show’s strength, The O.C.‘s Melinda Clarke is brilliant as Amanda, the lady who prepares the recruits for their missions. In this episode, we also saw she’s skilled in the way of questioning…another tough lady. Yes, please!
- I wish the other new recruits would disappear. Seriously, the show is best when it involves missions, Nikita and anything with Shane West‘s hunky character, Michael. There’s enough conflict in the show already without having to watch everyone gang up on Alex.
- Maggie Q (Nikita) makes a freaking awesome badass! There’s something so hot about her ability to threaten the bad guys — like with the guy who sold her illegal weapons — that even Jen Garner didn’t capture in Alias.
- The whole scene where Nikita puts Alex in a sauna to dry out really didn’t touch me the way it was supposed to. Alex freaked out because she was locked in a small box and was strung out, and Nikita broke down because she remembered being in that position. Meanwhile, I choked back a chuckle. Let’s hope we never see a flashback of Nikita as a junkie…it doesn’t fit her character at all!
- Next week, I hope they explore Nikita and Michael’s relationship some more. It’s obvious they are obsessed with each other — tonight they almost worked as partners in crime and the sexual tension was even more intensified. I wonder how long they’ll go without hooking up again…
What did YOU think of Nikita tonight?
