What did YOU think of Jen’s hotly anticipated appearance on the season premiere of Cougar Town, HollywoodLifers?
Based on all the chatter surrounding Jennifer Aniston‘s appearance on Cougar Town, you’d think she was about to win an Oscar or something. And yes, Jen IS funny on the show - but her BFF Courteney Cox is still way more hilarious!
Sadly, Jen’s role is nothing more than a glorified cameo. As Glenn, the nutty therapist of Courteney’s character, Jules, she lights incense, spouts bullshit, wears see-through caftans and seems to think her dog is actually her son. She’s weird and wonderful — kind of like Cougar Town itself.
But it’s Courteney, 46, who really shines. She nails it as Jules, who finds herself clinging to new boyfriend Greyson (Josh Hopkins) when her son, Travis (Dan Byrd), prepares to leave the nest as he heads to college. She’s comic gold – and I believe she was totally robbed of an Emmy nomination this year.
Still, as the supporting cast grows stronger and stronger - I absolutely adore the dynamic between Jules’ rival besties Ellie (Christa Miller) and Laurie (Busy Phillips) – I can’t wait to see what’s to come from EVERYONE on the show this season. I also do hope to see Jen, 41, reprise her role as Glenn — because isn’t helping a sister (or bestie) out what Friends are for?

I’m sitting here and read all the posts on Jennifer and what cracks me up is all the people who say she can’t act, she’s over but people keep promoting her etc. The funny thing thing is that is how 90% of the people feel about Kristen Stewart. In truth it’s probably more than 90% because so many girls go see it like thirty times a piece plus people don’t go to Twi for her which is evident in all the movies that have failed to make any money

thanks cecilia.
your comment is further validated by the fact that you decided to post your comment about an actress ‘no one cares that much about anymore’ – rolling.my,eyes.

She’s such a HIT that she came in third in ratings. Her fans are absolutely batty. No one cares that much about her anymore. She’s a has-been, one-note actress.

Oh Please, You loons didn’t even watch this show last night. Can you be honest and just say you hate her and have never watched any of her movies and never will. So tired of your same old posts. Please move on or just stay over on JJ. Oh that’s right–no one goes there any longer so you have to spread your hate on other sites. Most people stop going to sites you loons post on. This one will be next and seeing how there are about 12 Loons left this site will fade away.

Jennifer Aniston Is A Hit On Cougar Town
Jennifer Aniston has been praised for her performance alongside Friends co-star COURTNEY COX, in last night’s episode of ‘Cougar Town’ (22nd September 2010). The 41-year-old appeared in the season two premiere as ‘Glenn’, a therapist who convinces Cox’s character Jules that she can solve all her issues.
The episode involved Glenn advising Jules on how to deal with the fact that her love interest Grayson (played by JOSH HOPKINS) wanted some alone time. Aniston’s performance was described by US Weekly as “hilariously wily”, also stating that, “Glenn isn’t all she appears to be, and the actress herself is clearly having a blast playing a smarmy New Age type”. Despite only just beginning its second series, ‘Cougar Town’ has gained positive reviews since its premiere back in September 2009. The sitcom focuses on a recently divorced woman (played by Cox) who decides that she must re-enter the dating scene and find herself a younger man.
Despite Aniston’s appearance being a one-off cameo, she currently has a number of other projects lined up. She is set to star alongside ADAM SANDLER in the 2011 comedy ‘Just Go With It’, and is currently filming ‘Wanderlust’, a movie with PAUL RUDD.

Personally I think Ansiton is way over rated. She is not the beauty everyone keeps trying to convince us of and she is funny but she is no Betty White or Mary Tyler Moore or even Tina Fey. I am not sure what all the fuss is about. Oh yeah she was married to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie stole him away and the men are just knocking down her door because of her new body. Isn’t that what we are supposed to believe? Give it a rest people. Courtney Cox is a better actress and a better friend.

Jennifer Aniston Wins Big Reviews for ‘Cougar Town’In on Thursday, September 23, 2010, 4:30 AM (PDT)
Will Aniston’s guest appearance lead to a regular gig?
It was the moment we’ve all been waiting for, friends (and we do mean “Friends”): Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox starred together, on one set, on one television! It’s more than a decade since we’ve seen Rachel and Monica — er, Courteney and Jen — appear together…and the critics totally ate it up.
Read: Jennifer Aniston ‘Cougar Town’ Gig Confirmed!
Jennifer Aniston appeared Wednesday night on ABC’s “Cougar Town” alongside her best “Friend” alumna (and real-life bestie) Courteney Cox. Aniston played a New Age-y therapist who was dogmatic about the notion that she could repair the love life of Cox’s flaky but lovable character, Jules.
Aniston took the screen as counselor Glenn to high anticipation…and based on how she’s poised within the storyline as well as how awesome the reviews are, it sounds very likely we’ll see her on “Cougar Town” again. Late Wednesday “Us” Magazine made themselves one of the first publications to run a review of Aniston’s performance, and she started out the gate with a solid three-and-a-half stars out of four. One “Us” reader even commented, “They so need to make a FRIENDS movie!”

The critic from “Us” called Jennifer Aniston’s performance “hilariously wily” and said that she slyly plays a character who may have something more up her sleeve. “Loopy laughs, wistful moments,” they said. “Aniston is just the proverbial icing on the cake!”
Meanwhile, does Aniston’s warm “Cougar Town” welcome point to the permanent onscreen gig that we’ve all been hoping for? Step away from the movie sets, Jen — we want to see you on the TV set!

Well duh. Of course Jennifer was overhyped. That’s her trademark. I don’t get why people think she’s a great comdien and actress. Courtney has always better. I will never understand why Jennifer has the Emmy and Courtney doesn’t. I hope Jennifer doesn’t comeback. I didn’t like her in the role.
TOTALLY AGREE

BINGO–Jen’s ENTIRE CAREER is OVERHYPED. She’s always Rachel, and yet, her crazy fans and PR keep selling her as the next Julia Roberts or Sandra Bullock. She’s NOTHING but hot air and media hype.

WHO CARES what “laura says”?
Point is, the “overhyping” got its job done. Drew in the ratings. And that means more money in the actors’–including Aniston’s–pocket and none in yours.
Deuces.
