Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart attract attention virtually everywhere they go and can’t escape the flashes of paparazzi cameras. Now with rumored Oscar buzz attached to both their names, the hot Hollywood duo is shaping up to be Tinsel Town’s newest power couple!
Brangelina better watch out because Kristen Stewart, 20, and Robert Pattinson, 24, are hot on their heels when it comes to owning the Hollywood spotlight. The two have garnered a lot of praise for their recent film roles, Rob as Jacob Jankowski in Water For Elephants and Kristen as Mallory in Welcome to the Rileys, putting the Breaking Dawn co-stars and real-life couple in contention for Oscar gold!
Kristen has undoubtedly proven to skeptic critics that she has real acting chops. Playing a believable 16-year old runaway turned prostitute is no easy feat and in a recent interview backstage at The Tonight Show, Kristen talked about her secret to bringing fictional characters to life.
“It’s always different. If you’re playing a fictional character they should be real in your head.”
Her boyfriend, Robert Pattinson, has also impressed movie critics with his role in Water For Elephants. Although Rob says he picks parts based on how they call out to him and not for potential Oscar gold, his portrayal of a college dropout who becomes a traveling circus veternarian could potentially place that little gold statue on his bookcase.
“It wouldn’t surprise me at all if he were to receive an Oscar nod for this role,” an insider from the set told HollywoodLife.com.
Plus, when Rob’s Elephants co-star, Christoph Waltz, was asked by fans where he kept his Oscar (he won the Supporting Actor trophy this year for Inglorious Basterds) on the Filmore, Calif. set, he responded, “It’s in my house, but the way things are looking, I might have to hand it off to Rob next year!”
Rob and Kristen wouldn’t be the first Hollywood couple to be nominated for Oscars during the same award season. Michelle Williams and the late Heath Ledger were both nominated for their work in Brokeback Mountain and Brad Pitt was nominated for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button alongside is partner Angelina Jolie in Changeling.

This is a joke right? Neither of them are that good. Kristen plays herself in all her movies. She is so lucky to get a variety of roles, yet she plays them all the same way. The struggle to show emotion is evident in almost all her scenes in every movie of hers I’ve seen. She couldn’t even look happy without showing the struggle to make it look real. Rob was decent in the Harry Potter film but was just as terrible as Kristen in Twilight. His Remember Me performance was not as bad, but it was nothing remarkable either.

The day these Twilight “actors” get nominated for an Oscar is the day the Oscars will lose ALL CREDIBILITY. I’m worried they might do it just to raise their ratings. DON’T DO IT! It’s more important to hold onto your integrity than sell out for ratings.

That would’t be surprising. If they deserve it welcome that -And I hate Twilight but I think the books are by far worse than the films-. Also Amy, Anna Kendrick (Bella’s friend) is the first actor, from Twilight franchise, nominated to the Oscars. She played Natalie Keener in “up in the Air”, so we have a precedent.
Also, In this decade we have:
-Two rap singers nominees: Will Smith (twice) and Queen latifah
-A former reality TV participant winner: Jennifer Hudson (The luckiest loser from AI)
-The second and third actress who won for a foreign language performance after 40 years!!: The French actress Marion Cotillard (Very deserving) and the Spaniard actress Penelope Cruz (Better actress that expected in 2004 for American Audience) and both in consecutive years.
-A former VH1 comedian winner: Mo’Nique
-The first actor which won for a comic character: Heath Ledger (Also second posthumous acting Oscar after Peter Finch)
-An oscure European stage and TV actor winner: Christoph Waltz
Many osbtacles were broken this decade so why not this?

No. Kristen Stewart will never be in Angelina Jolie’s league. Stewart hasn’t got the chops or the intelligence.
