Following week after week of near perfect scores and gushing from the judges, the other ‘Dancing’ cast members have had enough of the trained dancer!
She may be a fan and judges favorite, but Jennifer Grey is having a hard time winning over one very important Dancing With the Stars group — her fellow contestants! Our friend Naughty but Nice Rob over at Popeater spoke to one insider who told him, “It’s not outright hate yet but it isn’t good. It’s just not fair that we are all working our a**es off every week and Jennifer literally waltzes in and gets the best marks. You would think that because she is a dancer the judges would be a little harder on her.” Here comes the backlash!
Jennifer, as everyone knows, made her mark playing a young dancer alongside Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing. This is not the first time that a professional dancer has been part of the cast, with Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger and trained tap dancer Mya having participated in past seasons. The difference this season is that it is the cast, not the fans or media, that are irked!
According to the insider, Jennifer’s success is really taking a toll on our favorite Alaskan single mom. “I fear that if Jennifer gets another perfect score this week Bristol Palin will have a fit!”
What do you think HollywoodLifers, is it fair to have trained dancers on the show?

I don’t think Jennifer’s previous dancing (in the 80′s) can be even remotely considered as professional or actual experience for that matter. That’s the only dancing she ever did and I’m sure it took her a long time to get it right. AS with this, many years later, she’s trying hard and remembering all that she was taught back then.
As far as other “stars”…to me it’s an unfair advantage to have anyone on the show who dances…(ie professional singers) since they dance on stage and in their video shoots. It may not be ballroom type dancing, but it’s still dance experience. This show should have “stars” who do not dance IN ANY WAY for a living.

Jennifer studied dance all the way through the private school she attended in New York. She had to audition for Dirty Dancing by doing a screen test with Swayze DANCING. While she was never ‘technically’ a professional dancer, she has had extensive training.

I’m not sure she was a trained dancer when she danced with Patrick. They use doubles. They use the actor for the close ups and professional dancers to do the dancing and the stunts, just like they do for an actor who is jumping off a building. It’s all smoke and mirrors.

I would not call Jennifer a “dancer” just because she danced many years ago with Patrick Swayzee. As far as I know she hasn’t danced professionally for many years. It seems to me she works pretty hard at getting it right. It may be a little easier for her than some other people but it looks like she is a hard worker. Last night wasn’t as good as she has done but I thought it was still good. By the way, Bristol should have been out last week not Florence Henderson. As much as I like this program it does become a lot about popularity.

All of you who are annoyed with Jennifer, I ask you this: The show is called Dancing with the STARS….so how is Bristol Palin on the show? She was a knocked up teen….that doesn’t make her a star.

You know although as you put it “she was a knocked up teen”, but she did the right thing and had her baby. Give her a break. It happens all the time and people like you who are so self-righteous can’t give people a break. As I said, she had her child and is bringing him up. Let’s give her credit for that and the people that decide not to have their child when they become pregnant, I do become self-righteous about them. As far as I’m concerned they destroy a life by aborting it.

this is the first year I have lost interest in watching.I like watching Bristol and others who are truly learning to dance but the ones like Jennifer who has swept the show to me thats not a competition even before when this has happened before I thought then it wasn’t fair.

I love this show, ;but this year, Jennifer Gray is a turn off, she seems to be all about herself. It is very clear when she is in the group at the beginning and the end of the show , she thinks she is special. watch her body language, very disappointed she thinks she has it all in the bag. and will be the winner.

she has always had an ego though from what i have been reading. patrick swayze in one interview said she had to get over her ego and from what i heard, she tried to have him fired from dirty dancing. the movie would have been fine without her but not him….he made that movie.

Oh and BTW just because Bristol can’t get the dances down doesn’t mean that Jennifer doesn’t work just as hard as everyone else.

I believe Jennifer works just as hard. She is NOT a professional dancer. Her dancing experience dates back many years when she danced with Patrick Swayzee. She hasn’t danced on a regular basis—and let’s not forget, she has had major surgery that surely makes it more difficult to bend and stretch. Give her a break people.

i don’t know how you could tell if she is working hard or not because all we see is her whining that she is injured and she is old and her body can’t take it….you knew what you were signing up for. that said i hope she goes home soon so we can stop listening to the constant crying and watching the constant showing off….if she was in so much pain, how is it that she dances down the steps and everything else. she is a show off who thinks she has this in the bag and i hope she doesn’t.

She is not a trained dancer for Christ sake. Get over it people. Just because she did one movie about dancing over 20 years ago doesn’t make her a professional.

Actually she is a trained dancer. Sh’e been dancing since she was a little girl.
Her father was Joel Grey, a Broadway actor/dancer/choreographer. She started her career as a dancer in tv commercials.
The reason she got the part in Dirty dancing was primarily due to the fact that she was an sctress who could dance.
You should do your homework before you blindly defend someone, Tina.

Tell me when has she danced since then? When after her accident has she danced? Do your homework. It is not the same as say Nicole being a trained dancer or Myia.

it doesn’t matter if she danced since then or not….the point being made is that she was a trained dancer. which gives her a major advantage. just because you didn’t see her dancing in the movies or what not, doesn’t meant she was dancing or training.
