Following the release of Taylor Swift‘s tell-all album, Speak Now, I don’t think anyone doubts that she has serious issues with the men in her life. “She comes on too strong,” a source close to the 20-year-old country star confides in HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “She scares off the men in her life … and her therapy is to express her feelings on paper.” Hence the album. But our source also tells us that 29-year-old Jake Gyllenhaal, who Taylor has been spotted with in NYC, could be exactly what she needs!

“[Taylor] has a thing for older men,” the source continues. “She’s young and wants what every girl wants her age — to get married. … [Taylor and Jake] just met and are spending time together, but Jake seems to want to settle down. He’s ready for marriage and he wants kids.”

Taylor and new maybe-boyfriend have been seen all over NYC the past couple of days. They were first spotted together Oct. 24 at the Saturday Night Live after party, before having lunch in Brooklyn‘s Park Slope neighborhood later that day.

And it sounds like the people in Taylor’s life are 100 percent behind this potential pairing!

“The other men in Taylor’s life were bachelors, not looking for the family life,” the source tells us. “We are all rooting for her. It would be nice for her to find someone. She works so hard, but she needs a social life, too.”
