Conan O’Brien’s Nov. 8 premiere of his new late night TBS show, Conan, had more viewers than The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and the Late Show with David Letterman!

Conan O’Brien tasted sweet revenge Nov. 8 when the premiere of his late show, aptly titled Conan, brought in 4.2 million viewers — which was more than both of his major competitors, Jay Leno and David Letterman!

“I’ve dreamed of being a talk-show host on basic cable ever since I was 46,” Conan joked during his opening monologue.

Sarcasm aside, Conan’s new cable show is a hit with the right demographic: the young people. More than 3.3 million of his viewers were in the 18-49-year-old group, which is the most sought after group with advertisers.

On the other hand, Conan’s network competitors, Jay and David, had slightly more than 3 million viewers each — and their average viewers were 50 years old!

Did YOU watch Conan? What did you think? Sound off below!

Just wanted to know if you want to join me in rewriting all the Christmas songs taking out the word Christmas and putting in holiday instead..the children in the area schools and also in some of the work places here are not allowed to say Merry Christmas anymore…instead they have to say Happy Holidays…they have to talk about their holiday tree in stead of their Christmas tree..so I think we should rewrite the songs…for instance White Holiday….Blue Holiday…Rocking Around the Holiday Tree..We Wish You a Merry Holiday and so forth….think we could make a lot of money? Santa will have to say Ho HO HO Merry Holiday
