My Grandmother has an original, still playable VHS release copy of Dirty Dancing and she heard the Peas version when it was aired during a recent episode of Oprah and she was like,”Who royally screwed up Patrick’s song?”, and I told her that it was the band that has been sued like a dozen times for plagiarism, The Black Eyed Peas. My friend that lives in the mountains said that a 41 year old DJ, nicknamed DJ Dad, refuses to play the Peas version after receiving tons of voicemails and emails about the Peas version, saying things like “They ruined a classic!” and now it is off the station’s playlists completely.
