My favorite part of any awards show is seeing the girls get glam on the red carpet, which is why I was so excited to see who turned up for the 2011 People’s Choice Awards on Jan. 5, where we saw pastels, metallics, and dark hues. Black Swan beauties Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis always look perfectly put together, and last night wasn’t an exception, where the mom-to-be dressed her baby bump in a loose-fitting Jason Wu frock. Her co-star, Mila, exuded elegance in her simple yet chic J. Mendel stapless.
Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez were also both on my best dressed list — I loved their feminine get-ups that were so chic yet totally age appropriate. Taylor turned up in pale pink J. Mendel, while Selena opted for an asymmetrical Paulka mini.
Both Kim Kardashian and Kristen Stewart looked stunning in gold — with K Stew showing her affinity for minis in a sparkling Reem Acra and Kim opting for a Malandrino dress.

Poor Selena, what a yawn that dress she’s wearing is. If she’s still trying to compete with Miley Cyrus, she’s going to have to step up her game. Miley always wears something that’s so outrageous, fun, and interesting that people, even her detractors, can’t help but talk about it. Selena meanwhile just melts into the background. So far, the only way she’s ever been able to get any publicity is to date a kid who’s two years younger than her. I just feel sorry for her because she’s got some talent, but she’s obviously got really bad management and can’t figure out how to get publicity for the life of her. She ought to start by getting rid of whomever choses her dresses for the red carpet.
