Last night on The Bachelor, Emily Maynard opened up about her dead fiance and host Chris Harrison said the news devastated the other girls for days!
The Bachelor’s Emily Maynard opened up to the rest of the house about her devastating past for the first time during the Jan. 17 episode — and when the other girls learned about how Emily’s fiance, Ricky, died tragically in a plane crash just days before she found out she was pregnant with their first child, they broke down…and didn’t stop even when the cameras stopped rolling.
“We showed a little of the emotion … [on the show, but] it actually spilled over for hours,” Chris told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show Jan. 18. “Literally the rest of the day girls were crying. It really just destroyed the house. These girls were torn apart by this story.”
No one was as touched as fellow contestant, Madison Garton, who was so affected by Emily’s story, she decided to leave the house and remove herself from the competition.
“She realized, ‘Wow, I am not the same kind of person Emily is,’ ” Chris said. “‘I’m not here for the same reason Emily and Chantal are. I just need to pull myself out of this.’ It was so emotional and so devastating that … it essentially took her out of the show. I was [surprised].”
Gorgeous, mature and kind hearted, Emily, 24, is one of our favorite girls on the show. Plus, her five-year-old daughter, Josephine, is adorable. We’d love for Brad Womack to end up with her…and after her revelation to him last night, we won’t be surprise if she goes very, very far.
“Every single thing you’ve told me, makes me like you even more,” Brad told Emily. ”I walked away feeling a very intense connection [to Emily].”
Who’s YOUR favorite girl in the house?

Emily is my favorite, but he will probably be stupid and pick that girl who slapped him. According to Realitysteve, that girl is who he picks. Big mistake, Brad, if you picked her over Emily. BIG mistake!

regardless of whom he picked over her. would you pick a person whos already been with their big love and lost them so tragically? the bachelor dude would never ever have the chance to get even close to what her big love meant to her. why would he want to “marry” someone who would only love him second best?

Regardless of who Emily falls in love with, of course no one will ever take Ricky’s place, but that doesn’t mean the next man won’t be loved with everything she has. Once you lose someone so young and tragically like this, you know you will find someone one day and be able to keep carrying on, yes we have baggage and the man who finds out and accepts it will be a man that will never feel like second best.

FYI: Her father’s first name is actually Joseph, Ricky was his nickname. His full name was Joseph Riddick Hendrick, hers is Josephine Ricki Hendrick.

Emily’s daughter is legally named JOSEPHINE RIDDICK HENDRICK, aka ‘Ricki’. Just a ‘fact check’ for the poster below, and an ever-so-slight verification for the poster above. ;)
