The producers of The Real Housewives of New York City suddenly cancelled the new season premiere because they thought it didn’t have enough drama, according to Page Six. Yesterday, Bravo exec Andy Cohen emailed Ramona Singer, Kelly Bensimon, Jill Zarin, Countess LuAnn deLesseps, Sonja Morgan and Alex McCord to break the bad news that the show would have to be re-shot. He warned the cast not to tweet about the programming disaster (they’ve already been airing promos for the Feb 15 premiere—now not happening) until Bravo could do a press release addressing the situation. Whoops! Too late—someone blabbed!

“We decided yesterday that our best bet was to give ourselves a little breathing room,” Andy said in the email. “I would rather get the show right than rush it to air.” But a source close to some of the women tells Page Six, “They are now freaking out that they’ll get fired for being boring.” The source adds that a few of the high-maintenance cast members are also mad because they had been planning “splashy viewing parties at clubs for the premiere.”

Insiders say that one option to fix the troubled show might be to add Beverly Hills housewife, Camille Grammer to the New York cast! The source tells Page Six that adding Camille makes sense because her divorce from Kelsey Grammer is happening in NYC. Yes! Please do it, Camille—we’d love to see you clash with Ramona Singer! That would be SO GOOD!
