Katy Perry may have just worn the MOST breast -exposing dress EVER in public at her Purr, fragrance launch in Mexico City, Feb 5. Her nipples are barely covered. But she’s just the latest female star in the past week or so to show off or discuss her mammaries !
From Kim Kardashian to Jennifer Aniston to Olivia Wilde, Hollywood women appeared to be compelled to take off their tops! And to talk about it. Breast obsession- long a staple in Hollywood seems to have exploded into the stratosphere. Just read this list of big breast events in recent days.
- Jen Aniston put nipple vibrators into her bra on the Feb. 3 episode of The Ellen Degeneres Show.
- Piers Morgan, the new host of CNN’s new evening talk show, invited Kim and Kourtney Kardashian on for an interview and then demanded to know if their breasts were real or fake. The sisters confessed under his grilling- Kim’s are 100% real, Kourtney’s are fake!
- Olivia Wilde posed topless, Lady Godiva -style for the cover of France’s FHM magazine. Her nipples appear to have been airbrushed out under her hair.
- Top plastic surgeons issued a report that Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks has the most in-demand breasts for women seeking implants.
- J-Woww busted out in a bondage-style latex bra on the latest episode of Jersey Shore.
- Victoria’s Secret Model and aspiring actress Rosie Huntington-Whitely appeared on the new cover of British Vogue literally feeling herself up.
- Sofia Vergara attended the SAG Awards and happily admitted that her gorgeous Roberto Cavalli dress accentuated her “golden globes.”
If you think Hollywood is on breast overload, then you better get used to it. Exposing breasts in public and obsessing about them is becoming the norm for stars these days.
Actresses either are not-so-closet exhibitionists or they feel pressured take their shirts off for magazine covers and inside spreads today.
Jen Aniston , 41, opened her shirt for us all to see, inside the new February issue of Allure and she’s no stranger to putting her best breasts forward. She famously posed in nothing but a tie for the Dec 2008 issue of GQ magazine.
Kim Kardashian was seen sobbing over the nude photo shoot she did for W Magazine on the latest epsiode of her show Kourtney and Kim Take New York. She felt embarassed and humiliated that her nipples were showing. Many of us women could identify with her feelings of being betrayed, yet by the end of the episode, she appeared to be fine with her nudity.
But is she really fine or are Kim, Olivia Wilde, Katy Perry and others who bare, just accepting their fate as the price of fame?
“Actresses like Jennifer Aniston and Olivia Wilde , fear they won’t get enough attention. If they don’t take their shirts off, someone else will. They feel pressured to compete,” believes Dr. Jenn Berman, host of The Love and Sex Show With Dr. Jenn on Sirius XM radio.
Psychotherapist Dr. Gilda Carle, founder of www.drgilda.com, agrees that female celebrities feel like they need to expose themselves to make it, but that they’re wrong. “It’s a matter of whether you have to be a part of the crowd or you’re going to stand on your own two feet and demand to be recognized for your talent.”
Interestingly, the highest earning woman in Hollywood this year: Kristen Stewart and the top earning actress in the world – Emma Watson – have never resorted to flashing their breasts.
Maybe, some of the women in the gallery of photos above, from Taylor Momsen, 17, who flashed her breasts at a concert, to Minka Kelly, who recently flashed inside GQ, will learn from their examples that they don’t need to strip to succeed.
Hollywood image consultant Michael Sands believes the breast barers are being foolish. “They are all trying to emulate Demi Moore and other women in the past who posed nude. Those stars seemed so avant garde. But it’s not special anymore!”

I can’t believe that anyone on this board would think that to fill seats in a theatre you need to expose your breast and other body parts. People go to the movies to be entertained and see a movie that at the least made some kind of sense. After seeing the trailer for “Just Go With It” that movie seem to make no sense, and Jennifer Aniston and Brooklyn Decker have plled out all the stops in nudity to promote the movie, end result, they get you in the theatre, the movie nothing but crap, you are totally disgusted but they have grabbed your hard earned money and the go ahead to make more crappy movies to get rich.

Lindsay Lohan is drop dead gorgeous and so talented it’s a shame she is getting into so much legal trouble pretty soon we wont ever see her in any more movies or on the cover of magazines because she will be locked up behind bars like, I can see it now! Hilary duff does adorable movies and has a pretty voise and I think that she would be a really good mom but she was WAY PRETTIER when she had bright blonde hair and looked a bit younger! Kim Kardashian is the IT GIRL right now and keeping up with the kardashains is a cool show but I just think of her all the time as a ethnic Paris Hilton, don’t you? Miley Cyrus is the cutest DISNEY

This is a very North American prudish article. There is nothing wrong with us women dressing in a way that shows how wonderful our bodies are. Anyone who strips off to make money at this high end is not being exploited, and in fact is using their body to exploit the public who buy their products as a result. I’m tired of women being branded a slut because of how they dress. That’s like saying a rape victim deserved it because they wore a short skirt! Why can’t we admire these women for the confidence in their bodies and life the exude.

Untalented women showing their boobs because they dont have true talent is as old as the day is long. These girls want fame by ANY means a la Kim K. and will do anything to get attention.
You dont see Meryl Streep, Glenn Close, Jodi Foster, etc (truly good actresses) on the covers of tabloids topless.
Low caliber actresses, singers & tabloid nothings are the ones you see doing this: Jennifer Aniston, Katy Perry, Kim K, Paris Hilton, etc.

I think some of you are missing the point. This isn’t about nudity in movie scenes but stripping for the camera off the movie sets to get noticed or stay on top in entertainment news. Why is there this need for a lot of actresses to strip for lad magazines or pose ultra provocatively for covers? Is baring your breasts or posing in your underwear required when promoting a new movie or tv show these days? It sure seems that way with the number of actresses who are following this trend. Olivia Wilde has been overexposing herself lately in more magazines than not! Sure she has a nice body but is that all she wishes to emphasize to the public at this point in her acting career?

Heaven forbid a woman should be known for her personality, talents, or brains. If you see the newest trailer of Just Go With It, it’s basically execs advertising Brooklyn Decker’s boobs to get men to fill up theater seats. It’s disgusting. The human body is a beautiful thing, but it shouldn’t be the only way to be ahead in entertainment. I’m sick of my gender demeaning themselves to be strictly wank fodder.
Would guys feel insulted if they became judged solely on their packages or 6 pack abs?

What a stupid story. Emma Watson hasn’t bared her breast because she hasn’t done a movie other than Harry Potter since turning 18.
Why so much angst about bare breasts anyway? It shouldn’t be any big deal. If you’re gonna show realistic relationships, you pretty much have to be topless.
Kudos to Emmy Rossum and Anne Hathaway for having the guts to ignore the false preachers. This is 2011, not 1951. Bodies should be bared more, not less!

The problem is that it’s such a cynical thing to have to do to get more exposure as an actress – take off your clothes to make a statement. the big deal is that women should be able to make a statement that doesn’t insist on objectifying the. men don’t have to do this-johnny depp is the biggest heartthrob in the world, and he’s never had to strip down to do so. The only guy objectified really is poor taylor lautner because his role demands that he be objectified.

Are you Kidding, I seen as much or more of both Kristen Stewart and Emma Watson as some of pics of the Female Stars on your post have show. Look around. They are there to be seen and although there are many fakes, there are a few that have proven to not be fakes. An in Emma Watsons case, she got caught on her 18th birthday by the paps, showing a whole lot more, even more than Miley Cyrus has ever shown, when she got caught by the paps. Same with being caught drinking underage. The difference is, in Emma’s case, everyone blamed the paps, while in Miley’s case everyone blamed Miley. What a bunch of hypocrits. Ever major star has bared themselve at some point, even Julie Andrew’s in S.O.B. At the time she said it was the only way she could get out of being typed cast from her Disney roles in Mary Poppins, and the Sound of Music movies.

Julie Andrews did it many years before S.O.B. when she flashed quickly in ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie’. Besides Julie, check the list of Academy Award winning Best Actresses and Best Supporting Actresses – just about every one of them for the past 20-25 years has gone topless, or even full nude. In fact, the only female stars that haven’t done nudity are the ones with the least talent (ie: Jessica Alba) or those that are strictly television stars (ie: Kaley Cuoco, and George Lopez’s hot wife – whatever her name is……) LOL. How ridiculous – talking about baring breasts in 2011?

I heard that Sarah Palin was having her name trademarked in order to introduce a new line of bras and panties. These will be the first politically correct line of “going green” underwear. These are “barely there” type bras with panties that are highly absorbent and need less laundering (hence, going green) in case a public figure has a moment of anxiety.
