Should relationships be 50/50, or is it better to have your guy ever-so-slightly want you more?

All might be fair in love and war, but should it be equal? Ladies like Angelina Jolie, Kristen Stewart and Selena Gomez seem to have total power over their men. Is it right that these women have complete control, or is this a sign that they’re just not that into the men in their lives?

First, let’s examine how the girls are masters of their men. In public, these gals are queens of the killer brush-off! For example, K-Stew gave her Breaking Dawn co-star and BF Robert Pattinson the cold shoulder when he tried to hold her hand at the 2011 People’s Choice Awards — and she pulled away. Justin Bieber isn’t shy about proclaiming his love for his older girlfriend, Selena, but she’s been much more hesitant to share her feelings with the whole. And as for Brangelina, well, we all know who wears the pants in that relationship (hint: it isn’t Brad Pitt).

But is the relationship right when one half of a couple is clearly more into things than the other? Yes! I’ve never met a couple that is 100% equal. As much as some people like to think that they’re just as into one another, relationships actually work if there is that tiny bit of extra hunger from one person.

In fact, some men actually like a strong woman. Angelina is far more forceful than Brad, more involved in world issues; she’s gotten him to become a better person. He and ex-wife Jennifer Aniston were too similar with their laissez-faire attitudes toward life. K-Stew’s independence and strong ‘I don’t give a flying you-know-what’ vibe definitely caught (and kept) R-Patz’s interest, unlike former clingy flings like Camilla Belle and Emile de Ravin. As for Selena, she’s the one girl that The Biebster has managed to actually gush about; his flingers are usually kiss-and-don’t-tells.

It’s OK to be naive and think that all relationships needed to be created equally for things to work, but the news flash for you is that they actually don’t need to be totally even. Playing hard to get or keeping things cool until he’s hooked are good ways of assuring you always ever-s0-slightly have the upper hand. However, if it’s your boyfriend that has the power over you, well, the best advice I can give is this: never let him know it!
