Forget playing a young Carrie Bradshaw, Blake is doing a complete 180 from super chic Serena van der Woodsen in her new flick!

Blake Lively is continuing to exercise her acting chops with the news that her next film, Hick, will have the young actress playing a meth addict with a 13-year-old daughter! Blake told a reporter on the red carpet at the Elle Style Awards in London that her new role has her going in an entirely different direction! “It’s completely different. I play the mother of a 13-year-old … Southern woman … also a meth addict. It’s pretty different.” We’ll say!

Blake already wowed critics with her portrayal of a, wait for it, drug addicted single mother in Ben Affleck‘s latest film The Town. This is one actress who is clearly trying to break free of her Gossip Girl mold.

Blake will have a huge support system in the form of the uber talented Chloe Moretz, who will play her daughter in the film!
