The vaults at every major jewelry boutique were raided to deck out this year’s Oscar starlets. When we say that Reese, Natalie, and Nicole looked like a million bucks — we mean it — and then some! Of course we know that all famous stars have personal body guards, but these baubles were so expensive-they came with their own security guards!
Ever wonder if the stars get to keep the jaw-dropping jewelry they wear on the red carpet? Or if they are paid to wear them? We do! Anne Hathaway was reportedly paid $750,000 to don her Oscar jewels, according to Us Weekly. Archival pieces usually have to be returned to the boutique, but oftentimes designers will gift the actress if she wins the Oscar. If that’s true this year, then we estimate that approximately 30 million dollars worth of goodies have now been delicately dropped into jewelry boxes all over Hollywood. Lucky ladies!
