Britney’s little sister might finally be out of the teens, but she’s had to act like an adult since the birth of her daughter, Maddie.

She might be Britney Spears‘ younger sister, but Jamie Lynn Spears rose to stardom on her own in Nickelodeon shows like All That and Zoey 101. But her acting eventually took a back seat after a then  16-year-old Jamie announced that she was expecting a baby with her boyfriend, Casey Aldridge.

Although many criticized her for glamorizing teen pregnancy — which seems funny now with shows like 16 and pregnant and Teen Mom — Jamie Lynn stayed positive and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Maddie Briann on June 19, 2008.

“She’s warm and nurturing,” Jamie Lynn’s mom Lynne says of her daughter. “And the most fun time will be when she’s the soccer mom, the carpool mom. That was the most fun I had as a mother.”
