Arnold Schwarzenegger’s four kids with Maria Shriver are rallying around their ‘devastated’ mom, according to sources close to the family.
As she faces up the fact her husband of 25 years hid a secret lover and son right under her nose, at least Maria can count on the support of Katherine, 21, and Christina, 19, Patrick, 17, and Christopher, 13.
“The kids are all banding together to support their mom right now and they’re doing their best to stay out of the spotlight,” a source within the family tells Us Weekly.
Katherine, as the oldest, is reportedly acting as ‘a second parent’, providing support for both her mom and her younger siblings. The 21-year-old is said to be particularly angry with her dad over his affair with housekeeper Mildred ‘Patty’ Baena and the secret child he hid for more than a decade.
The source adds, “Katherine is really upset about this and how her mom is right now. It’s tense because the kids need a sounding board just as much as Maria does but it’s difficult to go to their mom for questions in a time like this. Everyone feels really betrayed and embarrassed that it’s out in the open. Not for their dad’s sake but for Maria.”
Katherine and Patrick took logged onto Twitter soon after news of the love child broke on May 16, to express their love for their family. Patrick, 17, tweeted, “Some days you feel like s**t, some days you want to quit and just be normal for a bit, yet I love my family till death do us apart.” He then changed his last name on the site from Schwarzenegger to Shriver, as a show of support for his mom.

They need to get over it. I’m sure the “love child” could use some support too. The older kids have got to be used to the attention by now but this is new to the younger 1.
Be pissed at their dad as long as they want but they need to show some love to that kid or at least attempt it. None of this is his fault.

The kids don’t have a choice. Their mother is devastated and of course they will stand by her. Their father should spend the rest of his life making this up to the family. They still love him but they feel he has led an embarrassing life in the spot light and it is unknown when the press will just leave them alone and heal.
