Mom Who COOKED Her Newborn In A Microwave Is Spared The Death Sentence. Should She Have Been Sent To Death Row?
China Arnold was found guilty of placing her 28-day-old daughter Paris in a microwave and turning it on after a fight with her boyfriend.
An Ohio judge had the option to send China to death row, but opted instead for a life sentence without parole. Was that the right punishment?
The court heard baby Paris died quickly: “She died because she was overheated. She was cooked,” expert witness Dr. Marcella Fierro said in his testimony.
Before her guilty verdict, China’s defense attorney told the court the 31-year-old was drunk when the murder took place in 2005, and argued the evidence suggested her unnamed boyfriend was just as likely to have committed the crime. The couple was arguing over who was Paris’ biological father at the time.
China is planning to appeal the verdict and sentence, which would see her spend the rest of her life behind bars.
Her attorney claims she deserves a shorter prison term because she was drunk at the time! Is that ANY excuse HollyMoms? How would you have sentenced her?

So b/c she was drunk she should get a shorted sentence b/c she didn’t know what she was doing. Yeah ok, so then when the drunks hit someone with there car should they get off to b/c they were drunk and didn’t know what they were doing. OMFG did this lawyer get his degree from the toy store?

How could you cook your own baby? Drunk or not!!!! I love children, and to think someone could hurt any child (even their own)is disgusting.
I think she deserves life in prison, so that she can sit for the rest of her life thinking about what she did. Death would be too easy, she needs to suffer!
