Nick Jonas may be wise beyond his years, but should he really be going to Indonesia with a girl who’s eight years older than him?
Call me crazy, but I think it’s nuts for Delta Goodrem — a 26-year-old woman — to be going on vacation with an 18-year-old boy (Nick Jonas)…especially to an exotic location like Bali, Indonesia. The new couple is currently there under the guise of working at a song writing retreat — however, they arrived four days before the retreat began, so the sojourn is obviously more than just “work.”
Separately, I’m obsessed with both Delta and Nick. They are both creative and talented — not to mention, gorgeous. But as a couple, I’m not convinced they’re a good match.
First of all, Delta JUST broke up with her boyfriend (and fiance) of seven years, Brian McFadden. I’m nervous she’s using Nick as a rebound. He’s sweet, innocent and huge in the USA — a perfect catch for her.
Both Nick and Delta are in different places in their lives. Until very recently, Nick wore a purity ring as a sign of his chastity and intense faith. Delta — on the other hand — has had multiple long-term and high-profile relationships, and was even accused of breaking up Brian’s marriage.
Plus, it’s not like Nick and Delta have been together for so long. Although it’s hazy as to when they first started hooking up, their first public appearance was only a couple weeks ago.
Now they are in Bali…together. It’s weird!
What do you think? Am I overreacting about Nick and Delta — or is it bizarre their relationship has moved so quickly? Sound off below!

Um, let’s be honest. If the roles were reversed where he was 26 and she was 18, no one would bat an eye. It certainly wouldn’t be news-worthy. Who cares? You make it sound like she is doing something dirty, and she’s not. Men do it constantly, so why the double-standard? More power to her–he’s hot.

delta will be in trouble for going out with a teenager boy.they will give delta a paper like the one kim got.to not date a teenager.both delta and kim are cougar.
delta is 26 and kim is thirty-something.

i love nick and i want him to be happy but tbh i dont think they are a good match… its like theres 8yrs between them, to big of an age gap. Nick should date someone closer his age. If you think about it, its like him going out with an 11yr old… its just wrong. xxx

personally, i like nick. But I do think that she is too old for him, even though he is mature she and he should find someone closer to their age.hope she isnt with him for the wrong reasons. shoot…he should date someone normal and out of the lime light in my opinion.

The age thing to me is weird. But that’s not my problem, Delta is fake and is only dating him as a rebound. Not only that but it’s to boost her album sales since her music doesn’t sell in any other country other then Australia because she got everyone to feel sorry for her because she got cheated on then she goes and gets with Brian whilst he is married. Yes, they denied it but come on it’s obvious. Plus Nick is so young, he should have stuck with Selena. They were so cute <3
weird that Selena went on vacation with her boyfriend and now Nick does with Delta. Only difference is no one gives a crap about Delta :)

hi, I just have to say that I don’t believe either that calling her a cougar is right, anyways…. she is older than him, but that should’nt matter, BUT I really really hope she is not using him, and I hope even more that they are not dating… but that well is a too high hope.
I just expected from Nick so much wiser decisions rather than going out with an older who.
Luckily he will not dissapoint us.

Lizzie (below) – I agree. No kidding they are in the same generation! 8 years is a very small gap when it comes to that. A generation is 20-25 years. Not only are they in the same one, but they are on the same end of their generation!
People should really not be making a big deal out of this. I think Nick seems like a good guy…serious about his faith and everything. I’m 19 so we’re pretty close in age, and I would totally date Delta if she would go out with me! I think most guys would agree on that. The age difference is nothing. They both are lucky to have each other I would say. I hope things go well for them!

Maybe they are moving too fast. BUT I think it is pretty absurd to call Delta a cougar. At 8 years older than him, she could be his sibling. Therefore, I don’t think the difference is creepy. I understand that one might say they are in different stages of life because he is a teen and she’s in her 20s, but really, it’s not like he’s in high school – he has been pursuing a career for years now and has been successful at it. He could legitimately support her with what he earns, so that makes the relationship a bit more legitimate as well. In the end, if they really like each other, why not? It’s not hurting anyone and it would be dumb for them to stay apart because other people question it. I wish them well!

-he would be in high school or just out of high school. However, Nick has gone through so much in his life that has given him wisdom and maturity beyond his years(when you deeply contemplate life because you’ve come close to losing it, ur different and u search for someone who’s come to the same understanding), but there is a lot of difference of life/dating experience in 8 years especially when you are young and figuring out who you are. I support this is fully his decision to make, and my only fear is the speed, the PDA and the Trip are big steps for him, -his ring is on his necklace he wears it there quite often.

Miley ripped up that picture because she’s a psycho and still can’t get over that he didnt want her. Delta got dumped by her fiance’ because she was not good enough for him. ANd now she’s using Nick as a rebound. But i would like to see a duet.

I agree on several things. He IS going to find a wonderful GIRL around his age that is just as mature as he is and she will love every bit of him, flaws included, because all that will mater to her is everything he IS. And she will never try to change him like this woman is.

I don’t DON’T like Delta and Nick Jonas. Delta is probaly using Nick for her fame. Plus Delta is to old OLD for Nick. I think Miley Cyrus knows all this before us and that’s why on her Mexico tour while singing 7 things she ripped a photo of her and Nick Jonas. I think she dislikes Delta because Niley are meant to be with each other.

Delta is desperate to resurrect her career, such as it is. Her albums are flops everywhere except Australia, where apparently the public is tone deaf. She’s skanky looking and now really too old for the teen crowd. What better way than to sleep your way to success! It’s about all she’s got left!

Nothing to do with anyone else. I feel sorry for this woman, at the end of the day she hasnt done anything wrong but is recieving death threats, not the nicest thing to say to someone especially a woman who is a cancer survivor.

I’m not sure I believe that Nick and Delta are ‘in a relationship’. Yes, they had pictures taken of them holding hands. However, on May 20, Delta was holding hands with Perez Hilton. Are they dating too? If they are ‘dating’I think Nick is going to get hurt because for him, it may be a bit more serious than for her. I think she is using his fame. As for the purity ring, Nick has been wearing it around his neck for a long time. If you look at the pictures when they were holding hands, the ring is there on his dog tag. I believe his faith is just fine. I am worried about him though. If I were his mom, I’d be concerned! I have faith in Nick though. I just hope she doesn’t hurt him.

I actually think this is kind of creepy, despite the fact that they have an 8 year age diffrence but they also seem to be obviously moving tofast. Although i do adore Nick Jonas and usually fully support his choices I feel as if this is not the best one he’s made so far. Its such a pitty, lately we see many younger stars going out with older less famouse people and end up gettin their heart broken take Taylor Swift and John Mayer for example. I hope this relatioship doesnt last very long
