Prince William & Kate Middleton Don’t Want To Be Referred To By Royal Titles!

They’re fine just being called Will and Kate on their North America trip — they really are The People’s Prince & Princess!

Most royals are marked by their strict adherence to tradition, but Prince William and Kate Middleton are proving once again they are putting commoners first!

While getting ready for their upcoming North American tour, Will and Kate, both 29, have announced they do not need to be referred to by their formal titles of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge when they meet new people, The Sunday Times reports.

Kevin MacLeod, Canadian secretary to the Queen and coordinator of the newlyweds’ tour of Canada, says the trip will be about the couple showing they are down-to-earth.

“With the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge it will be a little more relaxed and a little more, dare I use the word, ‘casual,’” he says. “During the walkabouts, the Duke and Duchess will be meeting lots of people and they will no doubt be glad when a member of the public chooses a topic of conversation.”

Furthermore, another palace insider said the relaxed titles are a further reflection of their modern take on royalty.

“If someone feels they want to address them as ‘William’ and ‘Catherine’ or ‘Wills’ and ‘Kate’, the couple wouldn’t bat an eyelid at either,” they said.

What do you think of Will & Kate’s relaxed attitude, HollywoodLifers?

To ignore someone else’s mistake is a sign of good manners.
