Is there anything you can do to prevent a guy from calling it quits?

Uh-oh! It appears there may be trouble in paradise for Blake Lively and Leonardo DiCaprio‘s short-lived relationship. They may have had a breathtaking international whirlwind romance, but a new report claims that the Gossip Girl star is about to get dumped. Is there anything she can do to prevent it?

Leo, 36, has romanced Blake, 23, everywhere from France to Italy to Carmel, California since May, but his worldwide romantic jaunt may have just left him tired of his paramour.

Tensions arose for when the Inception star invited his mother, Irmelin, to close friend and producer Ryan Kavanaugh’s wedding over his new girlfriend. Asking Blake was not even an afterthought; soon after he revealed he wanted to start distancing himself. “She e-mailed to ask him why [she wasn't invited], and that’s when he said he needed some space,” an insider explains to Star.

Although they had just discussed moving in together, Blake was forced to realize that Leo was sending her some serious red flags. More proof that all was not well: the actor was spotted at a club in the Hollywood Roosevelt hotel in Los Angeles surrounded by girls and getting frisky with a sexy brunette.

Star states that one of the catalysts for Leo’s unsavory behavior is that his ex-girlriend, Bar Refaeli, has moved in with her current boyfriend, David Fisher. Leo is now said to be calling Bar in an attempt to meet up.

Clearly there are problems here. But can Blake salvage her new relationship?

Unfortunately, the answer here is no. Generally, when a guy is over you, a guy is over you. There isn’t much you can do to get him back in the long-term. There are temporary fixes, sure, but that’s like putting a Band-aid on a wound instead of stitching it up.

What Blake can do in an attempt to get Leo back is distance herself. She needs to play it cool, be less available, less in his face. If he’s sending her an email to tell her he needs space instead of having a face-t0-face discussion or even saying it on the phone, he’s an immature coward.

He has broken up and gotten back together with Bar so many times that he can’t really want her back — he just wants her now because he can’t have her. Perhaps knowing that she feels strongly enough about another guy to move in with him has made him realize that he doesn’t feel that way about Blake, but that she was a fun diversion, a good rebound girl.

Whatever the case, Blake needs to stop trying, stop calling him if she has been, and continue living her life. Maybe — just maybe — when she does, Leo will continue to want to be in hers.
