The very private couple were rumored to be engaged, but Minka’s rep has just confirmed the breakup. Are you shocked?
Minka Kelly and Derek Jeter have split after what appeared to be a flawless romance. Derek, 37, and Minka, 31, began dating in 2008 and Page Six claimed the couple became secretly engaged in August 2010. Minka’s rep has confirmed the split.
“The split was amicable,” a source tells Just Jared. “But they remain friends. They still really care for each other.”
The New York Post reported that Minka and Derek were set to tie the knot this upcoming November at the lavish Oheka Castle in Hungtington, LI, the same venue where Kevin Jonas said ‘I do’. But Minka played coy about her engagement in January’s GQ: “I promise you, I’m not getting married in the next month.”
Minka is currently in Miami shooting the ABC remake of Charlie’s Angels, which premieres Sept. 22.
