Demi Lovato knows how to look classy at an event, and at the 2011 NCLR American Latino Media Arts Awards she wowed on the red carpet before taking home a major statue, besting her BFF Selena Gomez!
Demi, 19, looked stunning at the Sept. 10 event in Santa Monica, Calif., where she took home the award for Favorite TV Actress – Leading Role in a Comedy for Sonny With A Chance.

Seriously guys!? they set up all of these awards. So that a star would win!
Think about it!
Taylor Swift was going to win the ulimate teen choice award thing. But the other year she was nomintated as the best pop aritst againts rihanna,lady gaga and all that lot. And she didin’t win. But when it came to winning the ulimate teen choice award! guees what! suddenlly taylor beats them all!

whilst Selena is better at acting.

well honstly i am not a fan of selena gomez and about time soneove outsines her ugh i am so proud of demi she has had an amazing year she is my rock but i dont think that qustion is fair dont get me wrong but deim it outragiousely grorgouse but there r a lot more pertty people too but whpo cares i am not here to judge so ……yeah

who cares if its not true that demi’s the sexiest girl in hollywood. sure theres pleanty of more celebs that are pretty too but who cares. u have your opinions and others will have theirs so its doesn’t matter who the best or what not. btw people are only saying tht “Selena Gomez” is better cuz shes dating justin bieber. of course. and this is just MY opinion so if u gonna hate what ever.

i think that Demi is a way better actress than Selena, she shows emotions more, and she really dedicate to her role. she also sings better than Selena! – however they at both beautiful :) thats just my opinion.

Why, where you around when the 1984 Summer Olympics were around? Or you seen her how she tumble in the Olympics over and over again in a recorded VHS tape? Of course Mary Lou is one of the good role models for everyone and the 1984 Olympics in LA is one of the best Olympics in history, maybe third to Beijing. Mary Lou Retton was not always on a public eye or on the media after the 1984 Olympics. Plus, she is no longer 16 years old, she is now in her 40′s. You only here her name mentioned every time the Summer Olympics are held. So stop comparing the young Hollywood stars to Mary Lou!

I have seen both of these shows. Understand, this award is based upon popularity and not achievement, so, in that sense, it doesn’t matter who won. The person who won was the person who is better liked by adults. However, I would not disagree that Selena is a better actress, potentially, then Demi. But that’s like saying Hilary Duff is a better singer then Selena Gomez. They both suck. Who cares which one sucks slightly less. My only point is that Selena is not a good actress, at all. I’m not going to compare her to Demi, because it doesn’t appear as if either of them are particularly good. Demi has had far less genuine opportunity. I understand that Disney forces everyone to over-act their parts, making it difficult to judge, one way or another. Disney demands the use of those goofy, over-the-top facial expressions, so you cannot condemn Demi for using them. They are trying purposefully to “cartoonize” their characters. Basically, it’s part of Disney’s mission statement. But I also Monte Carlo, a marginally adult role that had no connection to Disney, and Selena was no better then average, and that might be giving her too much credit. Demi has never had her Monte Carlo moment, where you’d be able to definitely tell. But what Demi pulled off in that episode of Greys Anatomy, alhough a much smaller sample size, completely blew away anything Selena has ever done. It’s possible that Demi might be able to act. Selena, no. Just no. In my opinion, Selena is too uptight and rigid, in every aspect of her professional life. You have to risk big to win big and Selena is petrified of making a mistake.

well,we do know that but Selena is a good actress other wise her show wouldn’t have won a Emmy and Demi didn’t,clearly Ur being subjective and the Emmys aren’t random people who vote it ppl who hav been in the acting industry for years,so unfortunely you lose all value in ur opinion cuz if Selena had all the popularity and no awards which demi had i would understand but she’s got them to back her efforts as an actress,
