Iraq war veteran J.R. broke down in tears after his Oct. 3 performance! Do you think he should win the whole competition?
Dancing with the Stars got real this week, as contestants were required to base their dance around a personal experience — and no one got more personal than All My Children‘s J.R. Martinez. He and partner Karina Smirnoff rumba’d their way into America’s hearts by dancing to Tim McGraw‘s “If You’re Reading This,” which is dedicated to fallen service men and woman. The powerful performance earned he and Karina 26 out of 30 possible points.
“I think the clear message behind that is that people really appreciate our men and women in the military,” J.R. told the judges after receiving a standing ovation from the audience. “I’ve never cried in front of that many people before. I can honestly say it’s the biggest stage I’ve ever cried on.”
J.R. served as a United States Army infantryman, and in 2003 he and suffered massive burns to most of his body while in Iraq. He joined the cast of ABC’s All My Children in 2008.

What an amazing HERO! Did you notice the only people in the audience that weren’t standing were the Kardashians! HOW RUDE!

J.R. Martinez is the best dancer. He is by far the most amazing young man and role model for all…We should have more like him. I am so inspired by J.R. I will be broken hearted if he does not win it all. For the record: I am sick to death of the name “Kardashian”!

I truely believe that JR is going to win thsi compition. He is a good dancer for one thing, great personality for another. And he jsut looks so graceful when he dances. He is my favorite and I just love him for who he is not what he has done. I believe he should be the winner because he is the best dancer out there.

I’m not a blogger but as a fellow soldier in the Army I was in tears!!!! My biggest fear every time is being hurt while deployed but I pray every time for the strength JR has shown that you can have after something devastating happens. JR you are my hero!!! Much love forever and always!!!!!

JR’s dance was outstanding….the majority of the dances were good last night but I do think the judges seem to give preferential remarks to Rob K ever since Khloe yelled out when he was chastized after his first dance. He was better last night then before but to give him the same 8 score as Chynna, JR, Rikki seems inappropriate to me – think Chaz might go home tonight….

J.R. should take it all this season. Outstanding dancer, role model and inspiration for all of us.
For the record: I am sick to death of the name “Kardashian”. Rob is like a clumsy tree on the floor.
I pray for fairness in this season. Puleeeez!!!!
