Elena came closer than ever to ‘switching Salvatores’ this week! Don’t you think it’s time for her to just give it up?
Aside from the hot-and-heavy pairing of Tyler (Michael Trevino) and Caroline (Candice Accola), every other couple in Mystic Falls was put to the test on the Oct. 6 episode of The Vampire Diaries. Elena (Nina Dobrev) continued flirting with Damon (Ian Somerhalder), while Stefan (Paul Wesley) swapped spit with Rebecca (Claire Holt), and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) had to choose between Anna the Friendly Ghost (Malese Jow) or Bonnie the Teenage Witch (Kat Graham.) Let’s talk about each of their poor life choices, shall we?
Still determined to locate Rebecca’s necklace, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) had Gloria probe Stefan’s mind for the truth. And by “probe,” I mean strap him down and torture the answer out of him. She ultimately discovered that Elena was in possession of the missing bling — and alive, by the way — but one swift stab from Katherine took care of Klaus’ witchy BFF once and for all. Stefan tried to flirt with Rebecca to distract her, but she saw right through his crocodile kiss, and Klaus quickly realized he was no longer on their side.
Back to Stefan, though: The show was clearly trying to paint him in a Jesus-y light this week by (1) making his torture sesh with Gloria look like a crucification, and (2) making it clear that he was only enduring all that pain to keep Elena safe. It almost made it hard for me to enjoy Elena’s flirty scenes with Damon, knowing that Stefan was off being poked and prodded for her. Almost.
The best moment of the night, in my humble Delena-shipping opinion, was when Caroline asked Elena point-blank if she had feelings for Damon. “Just admit you’re attracted to him,” she said — at which point fans everywhere thanked Caroline for finally saying what we’ve all been thinking for the past two seasons.
And even better, Elena didn’t even deny it! She simply responded, “I can’t. … If I do, what kind of person does that make me?” So she basically admitted it without actually admitting it. She always was good at finding loopholes.
Bonnie also made her highly anticipated return to Mystic Falls this week, and her timing couldn’t have been any better, as Jeremy was starting to see and speak to Anna more often. We learned he has full control over his interaction with his ghostly exes, and the more he thinks about them, the more they appear. Since Vicki (Kayla Ewell) was M.I.A. this week, I guess it’s safe to assume he’s totes over that one. And Bonnie being back in town has all but taken away Jeremy’s need for Anna, though I have to admit, it was pretty heartbreaking watching her beg him not to shut her out. (“I’m all alone!”)
One more thing of note: Anna warned Jeremy that “the darkness” is now in Mystic Falls. What darkness could she be referring to? I mean, sure, there’s always darkness in Mystic Falls. But what new darkness are we about to meet in the coming weeks? I’m all a-tingles with anticipation!
OK, now it’s your turn to rant! Should Elena feel guilty for flirting with Damon while Stefan is off literally sacrificing himself for her? And what’s this “darkness” that poor Anna was referring to? Another week, another mountain of questions to be answered.

Ahem. I think this whole love triangle is lame.
Elena ‘flirting’ with Damon let alone being with Damon while Stefan is away (mentally or otherwise) makes her appear to be fickle. She hasn’t presented herself to be fickle previously.
It does make her ‘human’ to have feelings for Damon but it makes her immoral to ack upon them. Any other woman would be stoned if she was so loose with her heart, especially when it comes to brothers. Just because Damon is hot does not mean he should get the girl. It does not mean Elena gets to drop Stefan because his brother has eyes to die for. You guys (who claim to adore him) should want Damon with someone who will love him with their whole heart and not someone who will forever chose him second.
Come on, wise up.

Okay, any of you people trying to justify Delena by saying “Stefan dumped her” are f*cking CLUELESS. Ever heard of the saying, ‘if you love something, let it go’ ? Have you not been watching the show for the past three seasons? Anything he does is for HER. He is the most selfless being on the entire show and has damn near gotten himself killed, re-addicted to blood, sacraficed, and everything else FOR HER. He dumped her right after she was hiding in his apartment because she COULD HAVE GOTTEN KILLED. If Klaus got to her first, I’m sure all you dumbass Delena fans would still blame him anyway! Stop looking for reasons that aren’t there to make it work. Stefan is damn near perfect for her– he hasn’t attempted to kill her brother, her best friends, or anyone else like DAMON has because he actually loves her- Damon only likes whoever Stefan is with! Oh and for the idiot who said “He should just kill Klaus and Rebecca” where have you been? THEY CAN’T BE KILLED. He sacraficed everything to save HER and DAMON, you all act like like he just left her for no reason– there WAS no other way. And yeah, I’m sure Delena will happen and I’ll totally deal but at the end of the day– she is in love with Stefan, and always will be so get used to it. I agree with DELENA 4 EVER and I LUV TVD. Stefan broke Elena’s heart, and he’s probably going to hurt her in the next episode. So Stelena fans, when you think that Damon hurts Elena unlike Stefan, think again. Damon has stayed with Elena through good and bad, and he has never hurt her physically on purpose. And if he did something to hurt her emotionally or disagreed with her, 99.9% of the time was to protect her. Stefan doesn’t deserve Elena. Well stelena fans answer this. The day of the sacrifice ritual who tried to stop the ritual and save Elena? That’s right, Damon. Damon has earned Elena’s love. It’s time they are couple. Stefan is a jerk.

Ok what a lot of you are saying is ridiculous! First of all Stefan broke up with Elena in the last episode, so yes she has EVERY right to flirt with Damon if she wants too. And I want to point out that most people are delena fans, and this is just one of the many polls that proves it. Btw, I also want to say that delena fans have had to endure 2 whole seasons of cheesy stelena scenes, so I think its our turn to enjoy delena. so just deal with it!

Do people REALLY think that Elena will get together(make out/sleep with) Damon while Stefan is gone? Come on . Elena is not written that way. It almost took an actual act of Congress for her to even ADMIT she worries about him and feel attraction for him.
Please. Saint Stefan will be back, Elena will go into her “get Stefan better” mode, they will be together (fooling themselves that the relationship is the same or close to) and there will STILL be the “connection” between Damon and Elena. It was there when Stefan was in the picture and it is still there when he is out of the situation now.

curious i completely agree with everything u said. they will wait 4 stefan 2 come back and they will fool themselves into thinking things could ever be the same but the truth is elena had feelings 4 damon b4 she knew stefan left so whether stefan is there or not the fact of the matter is that eventhough stefan has a place in elena’s heart he doesn’t completely own it. i will nwver buy into the epic stelena story 4 the simple fact that she told him she doesn’t want 2 become a vampire was never really certain about their future 2gether. it was more of a we’ll take it day by day thing she revealed 2 him and he acted like he knew that 2 so this undying love and need elena has 2 bring stefam back seems more like guilt 2 me 4 what he’s done 4 damon and what she feels 4 damon. as if stefan coming back is gonna keep her from falling in love with damon. she was doing that with stefan there.

No I disagree with almost everyone who posted. Stefan ended the relationship with Elena. He made it clear to her that he didn’t want to be with her anymore. So Yes it is ok for her to flirt with Damon. And incase you guys haven’t realized it, in the preview for the next episode, he going to kill her, or at least try to. WOW. What a good boyfriend Stefan is!!! (Not!)

how come u can claim Elena did flirt with Damon ? clearly we had to watch different episode. The only flirty-talk could have Katherine in the last scene. But Elena likes Damon and know him u guys prefer her to be harsh for him coz stefan told her to leave him alone ? pls even tht scene in the kichen when they were cooking chili it wasnt obvious flirting.

Oh please. Stefan told her it was over.He didn’t truly mean it but that does not matter. Elena has obviously had feelings for Damon for awhile plus she wasn’t being obvious so,she gets a pass. She is not sleeping with/making out with Damon or being forward so Stefan can do his thing and Elena does her hiding her head in the sand thing in regards to the two brothers.
Even Caroline is getting frustrated with her. LOL

Agreed. Everything Stefan has done has been to protect Elena and Damon. His actions may not be pretty, but he did make a deal with the devil. Damon and Elena getting together behind his back is wrong, no matter what Stefan does.

The show is fucking love triangle. Whether you Stelena fans want it or not Damon and Elena are going to happen. So just stop bitching how about right and wrong of Elena to be with Damon. She is human and can have feelings for someone else. Don’t act like you have not had attraction to someone else while you were in a relationship. It doesn’t mean anything unless you go with that person, and Elena and Stefan are broken up. So just stop with all this argument. Elena and Damon are going to get together for a period of time, so you can bitch and moan all you want, but it’s still going to happen. Stefan being left out doesn’t mean shit. Damon was left out practically all his life just because everyone else chose Stefan. It’s not the Stefan diaries and it’s not the Stelena show. It is going to be Stelena and Delena. When Stelena happened we stuck with it, dealt with all the boring scenes, and now it’s our turn. So just just shut the hell up about right and wrong because it’s not going to make a difference in the show.
