Joe Jonas, I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: please quit using your former girlfriends to try to get ahead…especially Demi Lovato!

It’s no secret Demi Lovato‘s issues spiraled out of control after her best friend and boyfriend, Joe Jonas, dumped her suddenly last year and then quickly moved on with another girl, Ashley Greene, who he brought on tour with him…in front of Demi. As if all of that wasn’t rude enough, now he’s dropping Demi’s name during promotional interviews for his new album, Fastlife, to help him get attention. It’s unacceptable!

During a recent interview with The Insider, Joe, 21, talked about doing a duet with his former on-and-off-screen love interest. “I wouldn’t be opposed to it,” he said. “I love her new music. Absolutely — if it worked out, why not?”

Now, it’d be one thing if Demi and Joe had ended on a solid note. However, it’s a whole other issue to play around with a girl who’s recovering from an eating disorder and deliberate self-harm (cutting), which was in large part incited because of HIS behavior.

The other thing that drives me nuts is that Joe wouldn’t even bring Demi up if her album, Unbroken, had flopped. However, it’s been considered quite a success, both critically and commercially. When it was released Sept. 20, it hit the top of the digital sales. Meanwhile, Fastlife, which was released Oct. 11, never hit #1 and has been hovering around the iTunes charts at #9.

This isn’t the first time Joe has used one of his powerful ex-girlfriends for attention. In early September, Joe very publicly went to two of Taylor Swift‘s shows and then even used a Swifty lookalike in his “Just In Love” music video. You can read my rant about that here.

Joe needs to rely on his own talent, instead using his former flames, who he treated horribly, to finagle attention. Until he does that, I can’t see him ever being taken seriously in the solo world.
