Watch out, ‘Vampire Diaries’ — R-Patz just accused you of copying his film series!
Robert Pattinson is passionate about Twilight, and it seems the Breaking Dawn star has some harsh words for other vampire-based dramas like The Vampire Diaries!
Rob, 25, said he sees too many similarities between his movie and the copycats it inspired, German television station VIVA reports.
“It’s like that Coke versus Pepsi thing, and how Coke just said ‘There’s a reason everyone compares themselves to us,’” he said. “‘Twilight’ was the original and everybody’s trying to copy it. They’re all just trying to jump aboard the ‘Twilight’ train!”

Vampires has been one of the most common topics in books, movies, series, EVER… so how can you say that? This discussion is about how stupid, pathetic and egocentric Robert can be.
First, both are based in books. Smith’s were written in 1991 and Meyer’s in 2004.
“Vampire can’t procreate, but we love to try- Damon” in The Vampire Diaries. But in one of the movies Bella and Edward have a kid, who is killing Bella from the inside.
Vampires don’t sparkle (as Edward did). In TVD they use a special ring so vampires won’t die under the sun.
They are so different from the each other, besides of having a different argument, characters and actions.

I think actually hes talking about the awful tv series The Vampire Diaries. Think about it: Twilight came out in 2008,Vampire Diaries 2009. i MEAN, its 2 boys that are both in love with this girl Elena and she has to decide who she will pick. I mean Bella has to decide between Edward or Jacob. TVD TV SERIES COPYIED TWILIGHT MOVIES.

AND there were many other highly successful and NON SPARKLY vampire series’ that existed before twilight like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Queen of the Damned, Interview with a Vampire, Dracula, Underworld and many, many more.

Im guessing that this was taken out of context..as are most controversial celeb quotes..but if not then is he dumb?! Idk about True Blood..but TVD came out almost 20 years ago..twilight is one of the newest and most mediocre vampire series.

R-Pattz, you are an idiot. Vampires have always been a huge thing. Plus, Twilight is the newest popular vampire related series. Nothing popular has really come after Twilight because it’s cheesy quotes and bad acting has scarred us forever.

He does realize that the Twilight series is actually probably the newest series of many vampire series. VD and True Blood were released before the Twilight books. The shows are just capitalizing on the success of Twilight, even though they are better made and been around longer. Ohhh Pattinson, please just stop talking and just look good, thanks.

The Twilight Saga I find deeply BORING. My favourite vampire movies are Dracula, Salem’s Lot, Nosferatu and Interview with the Vampire. I love The Vampire Diaries and True Blood! And Anne Rice books are amazing as well.

Does he mean shows like vampire diaries or true blood….but its obvious vampire diaries is not a copy though…its based on a book series that was written long before Stephanie mayors book twilight was published…there are so many vast differences in vampire diaries show and twilight…i like the books but the movies based on them are a bit lame when compared with vampire diaries..its a bit like a cheesy romance movie..vampires are too harmless, edward is way too perfect to be a vampire and bella is a bit of a weirdo with not being afraid of vampires..at least in vampire diaries vampires act more like real vampires…no one’s perfect..I never thought robert pattinson would stoop so low as to criticize other shows and make false accusations based on personal choices..I believe he has no right to do that…true shows about vampires have gained popularity but each show has its unique storyline…if there was a copy they could press charges for copyright….ian who acts as damon in vampire diaries also openly criticizes twilight too…i wish these actors would put aside their differences and personal choices and not criticize other peoples shows for personal reasons…its ugly and childish and distressing for fans of both shows…

Honestly,Rob that made no sense because twilight is (out of true blood, The vampire Diaries and itself) The last books series made so if anything twilight is coping their relationships, i saw breaking dawn just recently and i found it boring! So imagine how much worse it would have been if you took out the supernatural element it would just be one of those unrealistic relationships, because Edward would not have been old-fashioned! I for one am a huge fan of tvd and trust me it’s no copy!

Lies, lies and more lies! I went to see Breaking Dawn yesterday, I was disappointed. AS for Vampire Diaries, I’m a huge fan and that book series came out about ten years before Twilight did. Edward was copied from Stefan. You can totally see it, the animal blood, not feeding on humans, the personality. Everything. So he DOES NOT Know what he’s talking about! TVD can make me cry, laugh, smile. I laughed the whole way through Breaking Dawn because it was so pathetic!

I’m sorry to say but the twilgiht movies are horrible. What vampire sparkles??? I would have to say that TVD have a better plot line than twilight. Plus the actors in TVD are better… Kristen Stewart can not act she doesn’t portray any emotions in any movie she’s in. At least TVD can get me to shed some tears. If I want horrible acting I can go to a high school play

Twilight didn’t start vampire trend vampires have always been popular and they always will be popular. Never heard of queen of the damned, interview with a vampire, 30 days of night or dracula? There are also a lot of vampire shows made like buffy, angel and being human. The reason that everyone thinks that twilight started the trend is because twilight has a lot of young viewers and for them twilight was the first because they don’t remember the older movies and shows.

I don’t think robert pattinson mentioned the vampire diaries…. he just meant some other movies and new books or series that are copying twilight. there’s a new trend with vampires. He obviously wasn’t talking about the vampire diaries. You jumped to this conclusion. It isn’t mean what he said but what this article says.

I think that’s quite funny what Robert said. Yes, this vampire crazy is because of the popularity of vampires and that is due to Twilight but Vampire Dairies books came way BEFORE the twilight books. So technically Vampire Diaries aren’t copying twilight.
