Amber testified in court that she wants to quit the hit reality MTV show because she feels ‘pressured and exploited’ by the show!
During a recent courtroom appearance via video conference, Amber Portwood revealed some shocking news — she’s quitting the show! “I want to quit, and I will,” she said, according to The Herald Bulletin. Amber’s attorney Evan Broderick backed the claim and told the court she just wants to live a normal life.
Amber’s in custody at the Madison County Jail until her hearing set for Jan. 27. Her attorney had requested an in-home detention at her grandparent’s house, but Judge David Happe ruled that she would remain in jail.
At the news, Amber reportedly “dropped her head into her hands and rubbed her eyes.”
Amber is in jail for violating several terms of her probation including failing to submit to drug tests, failing to get her GED or complete anger management classes, not depositing $10,000 into an education fund for Leah and owing $56 in probation fees. The 21-year-old is also accused of committing battery and possessing a controlled substance.
Amber testified that she had participated in an anger management and substance abuse treatment program in Malibu, Calif. She said after her release she saw a medical doctor for back pain and was prescribed hydrocodone. She testified that she began to abuse the medication, and she believes it contributed to her violations and offenses.

to be honest, i don’t think she should quit the show. they get paid a large amount of money and it seems to me that will be the only way that Leah will be taken care of. she’s a joke!

Amber wasn’t in trouble until the assault was shown on MTV, getting off of MTV may be the best thing for her.

The show didn’t stop her from taking the tests, going to school, or depositing the cash in a bank account. Amber did.
So Amber needs to grow up and every morning chose to do the right thing whether the cameras are there or not. Clearly decision making is her problem and I think it’s best she stay in jail to learn exactly what power she has in controlling her life. It’s all in her best interest for her child long term.

This is pretty harsh. I’m saying, celebrities like Paris Hilton get busted for cocaine and get a slap on the wrist, yet she does something as simple as fail herself by not getting a GED and she gets time in jail. I’m floored.

That’s cause Paris Hilton doesn’t have a child. Substance abuse is self harm… But she physically abuses her partner, in front of her own child.
