The show might lose a big star if Ryan proves to be too expensive — find out all of the info EXCLUSIVELY from HollywoodLife.com!
American Idol host Ryan Seacrest might be fired from the show if his contract is too expensive, and sources close to production say that Neil Patrick Harris would be happy to take over the job if he left!
Neil, 38, would be offered 37-year-old Ryan’s spot if he gets the boot, insiders tell HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. If offered the gig, Neil would seriously consider it. After all, he’s multi-talented and Idol is one of the biggest jobs in the world — it’s a dream come true!
Producers aren’t ready to pull the plug on Ryan yet — after all, they are hoping to retain the star. But a backup plan is ready, and Neil would be a totally logical fit.
Do YOU think Neil would be a great host, HollywoodLifers?

I will not continue watching the American Idol if Ryan Seacrest is no longer at the helm. Neal P. Harris is absolutely the wrong person to even consider giving him the job. Frankly, I didn’t even watch the TV shows he’s been on. For me, there was no love at first sight. Forget about him. Give Ryan a raise, he’s worth the money

If Ryan quits I pretty much done with watching American idol. I so tired of gays being pushed in my face. America needs to wake up and start standing up for themselves, this if just wrong! If you cant find anyone else, I’ll take the job!!

Okay now that the jegdus are all coming back, how about overhauling the voting procedure? This present format is not good. It should be similar to Dancing with the Stars or even America’s Got Talent

NPH is the worst………….argogancy at its worst. If he gets the gig, my 10 year stint religously watching will come to an end. The gay thing is just the cherry on the top for this guy! First Elen, then this guy……..please. Look how they pushed Adam as a mentor even after his rediculous act live on the music award shows! Yet still, American Idol had him as a mentor? Again, please!

what Ryan has that Harris does not is a level of humility and other-orientedness on air. Harris is always”look at me.” He would be mugging and competing with contestants for attention. Ryan serves as big brother. Wrong fit.

No, no, no, no, no!!!! NPH needs to stay on HIMYM, don’t pretend that Idol is a better gig than that. It gives him many opportunities to do the other things he wants to do.
