‘The Lying Game’ Recap: Sutton’s Fate Is Revealed
Spoiler alert: Stop reading if you haven’t watched the Jan. 9 episode of ‘The Lying Game!’
If there’s one thing no one can deny about Sutton Mercer (Alexandra Chando) it’s that the girl knows how to make an entrance. After months of wondering whether or not The Lying Game‘s evil twin was dead at the bottom of a lake, fans got their answer when Sutton emerged on the show’s Jan. 9 episode — and she was understandably pissed.
After determining Sutton must have been dead, Emma, Ethan (Blair Redford) and Thayer (Christian Alexander) were in the middle of a makeshift memorial service when Sutton made her dramatic entrance through the bedroom doors. Am I the only one who literally gasped when all of this went down? So. Intense.
Meanwhile, Rebecca (Charisma Carpenter) continued going about her shady business in Phoenix this week. With Phyllis (Sydney Barrosse) heading to rehab, Rebecca tried to become Char’s (Kristen Prout) part-time guardian to keep her from going to live with her dad. But is she really the sympathetic aunt she appears to be, or could she have an ulterior motive for stepping up like that? As if I even have to ask!
And remember when Allie Gonino told us there would be “heartbreak” coming up for Laurel and Justin (Randy Wayne)? She wasn’t kidding. The couple got into a ridiculous fight this week — Justin was clearly looking for a reason to argue — and he tells Laurel he thinks they need some “time apart.”
Justin’s been saying their dad isn’t the great guy he thinks he is. Does anyone else think Justin might blame their dad for his mom’s death? He does have an autopsy report, and there was a T in the box he burned. Is it from Texas Sutter North University?
I might be completely off-base here, but am I the only one who thinks Justin might blame Ted for his mom’s death? He said all kinds of crazy things to Laurel about how he doesn’t trust Ted, and we did see him burning an autopsy report. Plus, did anyone notice the big “T” logo in his box of things? Maybe his mom went to Texas Sutter North University with Ted!
OK, it’s theory time: Is Emma totally screwed? Do you think there’s a connection between Ted and Justin’s mom? And feel free to weigh in on the differences between Annie Hobbs and Annie Sewell, because I’m super confused. Drop your thoughts in the comments section below!

Heh better do some copy editing next time. Your last two paragraphs were clearly rewrites of each other, but you forgot to delete one of them. Fail.

Did anyone else notice how surprised Derek was to see Emma (believing it was Sutton) at school? Maybe he was in the car when Sutton went in the lake.

I really hope Sutton says hi and goodbye and goes back into hiding because someone is really after the two of them, and if Alec realizes Sutton is still alive, he will try to kill her again and this time, he may just succeed. We all know he is the brains behind the car accident at the lake. Please, for the sake of the viewers, Sutton, go back into hiding!!

I HOPE SUTTON IS ALIVE FOR REAL AND IT ISN’T JUST SOME DREAM OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. I HATE EMMA SHE IS SO ANNOYING AND SHE STOLE SUTTON’S LIFE, INDIRECTLY.

1. Emma did not steal Suttons life, Sutton told Emma to switch places
2. Derek doesn’t have the guts to kill someone
3. Suttons a b**** who should’ve died (although it was kinda shocking when she cam back)
4. The lying game is one of the best shows of all time
