Divorce — who cares! Yes, Katy Perry is still hurting after husband Russell Brand filed for divorce on Dec. 30th, BUT that’s exactly why she needed to feel the love from her fans.
Katy Perry, you’re a star. You’re a HUGE star. And maybe that is one of the reasons that Russell Brand couldn’t take being married to you. He was jealous.
But that’s his problem. Not yours. You deserved to win the five People’s Choice Awards you that fans voted for including Favorite Female Artist and Song of the Year for “ET”!
So why did you feel like you couldn’t take your moment in the spotlight to accept those awards?
This was professionally, YOUR most successful year ever.
It’s so unfair that Russell ruined your big day… of course, let alone, your life.
But that’s the point. He wanted to hurt you. He wanted to ruin your life. He purposefully made a video in which he was pulling off his wedding ring. He wanted to break your heart.
So that’s why you needed to be triumphant. Instead your tweet announcing that you wouldn’t come — “Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the People’s Choice Awards. I want to thank u all for voting for me, fingers crossed! #KATYCATS,” sounded so sad.
Think of how empowered you would have actually felt if you had gotten yourself all dolled up, looking your hottest EVER — not a problem for you at all — and had made a BIG appearance.
Think of Sandra Bullock after Jesse James‘ affair with tattooed Michelle Bombshell McGee was revealed. She was reeling. She was completely blindsided AND she had just secretly adopted baby Louis.
But what did she do? She turned up at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards looking absolutely smashing in a super hot sequined mini dress that was virtually backless. She kissed Scarlett Johansson and looked FANTASTIC! She was funny and smiling from ear to ear.
She didn’t want anyone to feel sorry for her. And the crowd was WILD! The standing ovation lasted forever! She OWNED the night!
That’s exactly what would have happened for you, Katy. Your fans would have shown a mega-force of support for YOU … Russell who?
I and all your fans appreciated that you tweeted “THANK U to every1 who voted for me for the @peopleschoice tonight! We won so many! Now I need to get more books 2 successfully display them!”
But listen — you could have skipped the red carpet and media room to avoid all uncomfortable questions, and just been there for your shining moment. Don’t let Russell Brand, or any man, EVER take the spotlight that YOU earned!

As NO ONE knows what actually went on between these two why are the vast majority of people blaming Russell Brand? She didn’t turn up to honour her fans because she could not be bothered- so broken hearted she partied all through the holiday season!! she turns up for concerts because she is paid for it, not because she is brave! How dare you!? who do you think you are? you are the biggest hypocrite, in previous articles you write ‘KATY SHOULD FIGHT FOR HER MARRIAGE’ and here you say ‘WHO CARES?’ you have multiple personality disorder. Katy is going through something very tough and the way she still carries her self still amazes me! she takes the time out of her life, out of her issues and problems to reassure her fans that shes getting better, and thanking them!. Bonnie what a evil person you are !! She is going through so hard time just because she is famous person – celebrity doesn’t mean that you , i or any of her fans own her, that she has to attend at any of those events.You should have some empathy to her. Her husband (soon to be ex) filled for a divorce and instead of giving her support you just bash girl that she didn’t show up. Really I wonder what you would do if your husband would leave you , how keen you would be to attend on public events and act like everything is hunky-dory.!! They should fire you asap because all of your articles here are under any level!

I disagree 100%. It’s only been 2 weeks since this was announced. I don’t blame her at all for not wanting to deal with being at an awards show in light of all of this. Her true fans know that she appreciates us. I’m glad she is taking time to deal with this as privately as she can.
