Adam addressed his holiday altercation with boyfriend, Sauli Koskinen, on ‘Ellen’ today as Sauli sat in the audience.
Adam Lambert was arrested on Dec. 22, 2011 by Finland authorities after he and boyfriend Sauli Koskien fought outside a bar in Helsinki. “It was a bad night,” Adam told Ellen DeGeneres of the incident.
Adam started the conversation by stating he was “lucky to fall” in love with a great partner. He then explained an excess amount of alcohol was involved, but the rumors of the fight becoming physical were not true.
“Being in a relationship, no less a gay relationship, is hard in the public eye,” Adam added.
Because of the event, Adam set his New Year’s resolution to clean up his act.
“I owe it to my fans to be more adult,” Adam said. “The universe always sends you wake-up calls.”
Sauli, sitting in the audience, appeared happy to be there.
Are you glad Adam is cleaning up his act, HollywoodLifers?

LOL he didn’t say “Being In A Gay Relationship Is Hard” he said “Being In A relationship, especially a Gay Relationship, IN THE PUBLIC EYE Is Hard.”
Your headline completely distorts his meaning.

It’s Sauli Koskinen, not Koskien. Anyway, I love them together <3

What I love most about Adam Lambert is his realness. He is not only an outstanding performer but an amazing person. He always strives to improve his performances and himself as a person. Wish more people could be like him. Honored to have met both Adam and Sauli. Glad they are happy and in love. Adam’s new album & single are getting rave reviews. Adam’s off to a great start for 2012 and wish Adam and Sauli continued happiness in 2012…

Bottom line, Adam and Sauli look better than either of them ever have, they look happy, healthy, in love and that’s all that really matters. If ‘cleanin up’ his act is what Adam wants then he should do it. Adam’s hippy heart, ‘freedom of expression’ ‘all is love’ energy is still there no matter what he does or doesn’t do.
@gbtw, I would bet my life that Adam is not an abuser in any way. Besides, Sauli may be smaller but have you seen him with no shirt? Solid muscle. The dude could take Adam down with no problem. lol

That was a misquote. The actual quote is “Being in a relationship, no less a gay relationship, in the public eye, is hard enough”
So your headline is out of context. It should have been “Being in a relationship in the public eye is hard” – as is relevant to any celebrity relationship, gay or straight.

i think he’s just saying what he thinks he needs to say. i don’t know how bad his act is, but i doubt he really is committed to cleaning it up. i don’t really consider him a big star (tho liked him on idol), so i don’t really know that anyone cares— unless he’s an abuser. then, he can kiss whatever career he has goodbye. something in my gut tells me that could be the case here (that he might be dancing on the edge of too physical with his significantly smaller partner), but certainly there is no hard evidence of it.

Who are you to say he doesn’t mean it when he says he is going to change his lifestyle!? He’s been a club boy and I guess finding some one you care about and maturing in age you tend to rethink what is important to you! So I will give him the benefit of doubt!

I truly believe that the incident in Finland between Adam and Sauli was not abusive. Everyone who has known Adam for years or has worked with him always says how kind and considerate he is. His two major relationship exes remain close friends with him and have been seen with him at social events after they parted ways. One ex remains a close family friend and the other was seen rocking out in the audience at a Glam Nation concert and later with Adam at a club.
What Adam didn’t mention in the Ellen interview was the jetlag issue. He had just arrived in Finland directly from a concert in Shanghai after flying to Shanghai from LA only a few days prior. Jetlag + alcohol at 4AM after a night of partying doesn’t lead to normal or rational behavior. He should have been responsible enough to stay home and get some sleep. Who among us hasn’t made similar bad decisions? It’s a good sign to me that he accepts responsibility for his behavior.

I always smile when people underestimate Sauli. As was said before, have you seen the guy without his shirt? Out jogging? Even reading Sauli’s blogs is hilarious. He is a self-confident, funny, buff Finn. Yeah, Adam has his hands full with that one. AND, if Adam really stepped out of line, I think his family and the close friends he’s had for years would yank him back with a great big WHOA!
If Adam tried to play the superstar card with them it would fall on deaf ears and result in an hour in the ‘naughty chair.’

It is nice if Adam and Sauli are doing things that make themselves feel better and happier… but it is NONE of our f—ing business!

apparently adam disagrees with you, being that he is saying he is cleaning up his act b/c his fans deserve better… plus, really, why are you on this website if you think celebrity gossip/news is nobody’s business? i don’t understand why people always come on these sites making these grandiose proclamations even though they’re visiting the same place the rest of us are. in any case, it’s a common reaction (‘it’s nobody’s business’) almost always spoken by the fans of someone who’s being portrayed in a negative light.

gbtw: You are the pot calling the kettle black. Why don’t you “so i don’t really know that anyone cares— unless he’s an abuser” keep your grandiose proclamations to yourself. Just STFU why don’t you.
