It’s official: Heidi & Seal have released a statement to HollywoodLife.com saying that they’ve decided to separate. So sad. Will they file for divorce now?
Heidi Klum and Seal have confirmed that they are splitting after six years of marriage.
Heidi, 38, and Seal, 48, revealed the separation in a statement obtained by HollywoodLife.com on Jan. 22.
“While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate,” the statement reads. “We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition. We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children’s sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy.”
Heidi and Seal wed on May 10, 2005 and have three biological kids together: Henry Günther, 6, Johan Riley, 5, and Lou, 2. Additionally, Seal adopted one of Heidi’s children, 7-year-old Leni, from her previous relationship with Flavio Briatore.
We wish the whole family the best during this difficult time.
Are YOU shocked that this couple is splitting up, HollywoodLifers?

growing is a part of life and getting older. when it’s done “apart” (not under the same roof), this result is nearly inevitable. i think the difference between today’s world, and hollywood’s world, and the “olden days” is that people don’t seem to find the need, nor desire, to pull the stray pieces back together onto the same path. they each want to stay where they are and move on/apart. i don’t know what is the right way to proceed, but this is why marriage is on such shaky ground as an institution. unless one person really NEEDS the other person- people just say, ‘okay, goodbye.’ kids need/want stability though, so it’s a shame to them when this happens- because they don’t know or feel confident that everything is going to be okay.
