Jim Carrey’s 24-year-old Jane Erin surprised the judges at the ‘American Idol’try outs. Watch her incredible audition!
The last person we expected to see auditioning on American Idol Jan. 22 was Jim Carrey‘s daughter, Jane Erin Carrey, and not only does she have an amazing voice, she’s super charismatic as well!
Watch the audition to see the 24-year-old waitress and mom belt out “Something To Talk About.” She’s really good!
“I like it. I liked the sound of your voice,” Jennifer Lopez said. “I think you need to think about the performing more. You close your eyes a lot.”
Do YOU think Jane will make it past Hollywood week?

She’s adorable and probably nervous.
I know I was first time I auditioned as a kid in theater. The cameras and people for audition is nerve wracking, theater you also have to throw in dance routine they show you once, and then it’s on you-lol
Bet she warms up next time ;) (would be nervous if my dad was mentioned and was famous, the expectations of me)
Hope things work out for her!

she was ‘good’, but not at all great. she’ll have to come out of her shell and define herself in some unique way to have any chance of going forward. she did have a nice sound to her voice, but it wasn’t unique, and her performance was completely flat. i’m sure she’s in a hard position, with an overthetop father and not wanting to be too “in your face”— but, it’s idol. she has to wow people- not just stand there and sing pretty and be pretty, but WOW people. step it up, jane! don’t be afraid to succeed…

I wouldn’t say they were WOW’d by a long shot!! She did good enough to move on I agree. But, they were not flipping out over her.. Didn’t you watch it?

yes. the judges were as lukewarm with their reception of her as was her performance. maybe she’s got more than what she showed them though… i honestly don’t think she’d have gotten through without a famous father. i don’t think she USED the fame card- and was clearly trying not to, but tho her voice was decent, she was very lackluster and didn’t act at all like she had the drive to make it. i mean, did she even act like she wanted to make it to hollywood? not really… in any case, not hating her, but, i do hope she has something more than that to show us!
