2012 is a big year for mega-movie releases, but which highly anticipated film will come out on top?
They both have hot hunks, riveting plots, and strong fan bases; but only one movie can me the best of 2012. Twilight fans are dying to see Robert Pattinson return to the big screen in Cosmopolis, as a multimillionaire businessman trying to find meaning in his life. But R-Patz may have some competition from loyal tributes who are dying to see The Hunger Games come to life. These two movies are battling out in MTV‘s big “Movie Brawl” poll, so which will win?
While Rob is arguably the hottest hunk in Hollywood, The Hunger Games boasts one well groomed cast. Who can’t wait to see Liam Hemsworth as the dashing Gale, Josh Hutcherson as the charming Peeta, and Jennifer Lawrence as the heroine Katniss in The Hunger Games? It may be too close to call, but we want to hear what film YOU think will be the best of 2012!

Aren’t these movies two different genres? Cosmopolis is a drama/action/thriller whereas The Hunger Games is action. HWL, don’t try to pit a “saga” (a series of films) to an indie film. Fans of the THG will go & support it like the Twilight fans supported Twilight. What will be interesting is when THG saga is over, how will the cast parlay that interest and/or fame into other projects? Will members of that cast be as successful in doing so as K-Stew & R-Patz?

The Hunger Games and the two books that follow it are very good reading. Cosmopolis is a very difficult read. Liam Hemsworth is quite handsome, but I am most looking forward to seeing Cosmopolis and I am not ashamed to say it is primarily because of Rob Pattinson. There is an intangible likeability about this young man that crosses generational lines. He is not only a teen or preteen phenomena. He is an excellent actor and someone you just want to root for because he is so funny and loyal and, well, simply a nice guy who deserves good things. Long past my teens, I am a fan for life. I hope both The Hunger Games and Cosmopolis do well at the box office. But as careers go, Rob Pattinson’s will be long and successful if that’s what he wants, which remains to be seen. He is the Jimmy Stewart, Cary Grant, Brad Pitt, George Clooney of the future and I wish him nothing but the greatest of success.

Cosmopolis won Yay!
Just shows the staying power Rob has, way beyond Twilight. He has so many loyal fans who can’t wait to see his what he can do and teamed with Mr. C, this one is going to be amazing. Not a huge Twilight fan, love Rob.

So glad Cosmopolis won! They are not really comparable films. One for adults – one for teens. One a franchise one an indie film. I voted for Cosmopolis because that is the film i would rather see! So even thought it was an odd comparison/contest – happy with the results!

It’s really not a fair comparison. The Hunger Games (which I have NOT read) is aimed at a PG13 audience.
Cosmopolis, however (and I have read this one), is a Cronenberg film and will have an older audience that will be mixed Robert Pattinson fans and Cronenberg enthusiasts (of which I am both).
I doubt many parents will be permitting their kids under 17 to see Cosmopolis – at least, until they’ve seen it first.

ummmmmm neither! the highest grossing film worldwide will be the hobbit:an unwxpected journey followed by the dark knighr rises and the avengers!domestically the highest grossing film will be the dark knighr rises follwed by the hobbit , the avengers and the amazning spider-man and as much as it pains me to say it i think twilight:breaking dawn part 2 will come fifth but it won’t be the highest grossing entry of the franchise!
