Seal opened up about his heartache over the end of his seven-year marriage to Heidi — he says he still loves her!

Singer Seal appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Jan. 24 and revealed that even though he and Heidi Klum are separating, he thinks she’s the most wonderful woman he knows. “The thing that I’m most proud about this great woman who I married — and I really do mean that from the bottom of my heart — is that together she has given me four incredible gifts, four beautiful children,” he told Ellen.

The 48-year-old and Heidi are very involved parents to four young children — Leni, 7, Henry, 6, Johan, 5, and Lou, 2.

Although they grew apart, Seal says the divorce proceedings won’t be nasty for the sake of the kids. “I think our priority was to reamin civil and do this thing with dignity,” he explained. “We still very much love each other.”

As a sign of his continued love for the model, he is still wearing his wedding ring. “I think it’s just pretty much a token of how I feel about this woman,” he said.

But even though he has so much respect for Heidi, he said they grew apart. They tried to work through their issues, but “these things happen.”

“I think we were shocked,” he said. “You go into these things with the greatest intentions when you say, ‘I do’ and you say ”til death do us part.’ Those vows hold value. They are not just words.”
