Leah’s fiance Jeremy Calvert reveals the heartbreaking news. Poor Leah.
Teen Mom 2 star Leah Messer was looking forward to getting married to her fiance Jeremy Calvert and welcoming their new baby into their lives until disaster struck. Leah lost her baby in the middle of her pregnancy, a source reveals.
“She was having bad cramps for the past two weeks, and then she miscarried,” the source tells OK! magazine.
Jeremy confirms the heartbreaking news. “It’s a devastating experience, but all I can do is support Leah and take things day by day,” he shares with OK!. “It’s hard, but we will get through it.”
Leah started suffering from cramps two weeks ago. “She knew something was wrong when the cramps got worse consistently,” the source says. “She was having extreme pain to the point where she couldn’t get out of bed.”
Leah’s mother Dawn Spears brought Leah over to her house to watch over her daughter — and that’s where Leah lost the baby on a very sad Saturday afternoon. “Leah knew something was happening,” explains the source. “She was bleeding and had body aches.”
Jeremy had been working, but when he found out Leah wasn’t feeling well, he raced over to Dawn’s house. “He rushed right over to be with her when he heard that she was in pain,” says the source.
Now, Leah is battling the heartbreak of losing her baby. “Leah is still very emotional about it,” notes the source. “She’s been really upset. There have been times during the day when she will just break down and cry.”
Jeremy is trying to handle the loss as well. “Jeremy is trying to be as supportive as he can,” says the source. “Of course, he realizes it’s a situation that no one can control. It’s devastating.”
They kept the miscarriage a secret from everyone at first, including Leah 2-year-old twin daughters Aliannah and Aleeah, who she thought were too young to understand. “Leah chose not to tell people about the miscarriage right away,” shares the source.
Though disaster has broken both Jeremy and Leah’s hearts, they still plan to get married. “Leah says that Jeremy definitely is ‘the one’ for her,” the source states.
But right now, they aren’t thinking about trying to get pregnant again. “The thought hasn’t even crossed Leah’s mind to try again,” says the source.
“They are still trying to cope with the fact that this happened,” adds the source. “It’s a sad time for everyone right now, and they are just taking it day by day.”
