Austin Nichols tells us the dramatic story line is the type of ‘challenge’ he’s been waiting for.
We all knew the ninth season of One Tree Hill was going to be rough, but I don’t think anyone was expecting to see Brooke (Sophia Bush) and Julian’s (Austin Nichols) son Davis being carried off in a stretcher on last week’s episode. “It could happen with any parent,” Austin told HollywoodLife.com during our recent visit to the show’s North Carolina set, adding that “Julian really puts a lot of blame on himself for this thing that happens.”
And while it will be difficult to watch Julian deal with the consequences of his neglectfulness — he accidentally left Davis alone in the car to suffocate — Austin says he’s reveling in the drama.
“As an actor it’s been great,” he says. “I’ve really gotten to go to a different place that I haven’t gone to before on this show. I’m always pushing and begging [creator Mark Schwahn] for stuff like this, just trying to keep exploring. I want him to challenge me, and hopefully I can challenge him in some way. I think that makes the best artwork, really.”

OMG !!!!! How could they do this ?! As a mother I would never be able to forgive anyone who did this to my baby however I would be able to forgive my hubby cos I know he would never mean to do it. Julian loves the babies so Brook should forgive him. U know forgive and forget !!! Xxxxx

It was awfull to watch. why do this to brooke.. i kno its all fiction but as a mother this episode really upset me.. i cant beleive the writers have been so cruel. i could never forgive my partner for something like that!

It gave me the chills i am horrified at this story line it seemed obvious the twin bany had died as the first responders were in no rish to get to hospital . This is really hard to watch even though it is fiction

I’m sorry, I just don’t know how Brooke could ever forgive Julian for this. I know that he loved that baby and OBVIOUSLY it was an accident.. but being a mother, I don’t think I could forgive anybody for being SO forgetful.

It’s so awful. I can’t stop thinking about it. I know it’s only a TV show, but I can’t believe they went there.

just when the world thought there was nothing more to tell..BAM! im loving season 9 and im positive i will love whats to come! the day its over will be a sad day … but in the mean time im going to soak in the amazing story line that they have thrown at us <3 !!

I have never been so glad I don’t read spoilers because that was SUCH a shock to me! What an ending. Finally some drama unlike the snoozefest that was season 8!
