Simon say it isn’t so — why did you ditch your perfect wing woman Paula on ‘X Factor’? Yes, you were right to dump wimpy Nicole and forgettable Steve, but not Paula!
Nicole Scherzinger sealed her fate the moment she refused to make a decision between X Factor contestants Rachel Crow and Marcus Canty in the semi-finals.
When she abdicated her job and let “America’s” votes makes the decision and Rachel was eliminated, Simon and the X Factor audience knew it was just plain wrong.
Then when little Rachel, 14 — one of Simon’s girls — fell to the ground on her knees, that was undoubtedly the moment that Simon could not and would not forgive.
He’d already criticized Paula’s song selections and visual presentations, plus her habit of crying at the drop of the hat, so The Rachel Crow blow was definitely Simon’s “had it” moment.
Steve was such a non-factor on X Factor, he isn’t even worth discussing. Let’s just say we need a way cuter and more charismatic host.
But Simon — you went too far when you eliminated Paula on Jan. 30, according to Deadline.com. You have to remember that you still need someone on your panel to bring the warm factor to LA’s cool factor and your mean factor.
Plus, like it or not, Paula is the yin to your yang. She’s the Cher to your Sonny. She’s the Hoda to your Kathie Lee.
You just made a big mistake getting rid of your girl.
You know what Simon — this is another Melanie Amaro moment and you’re going to have to go and get Paula back again. Mark my words Simon — you’ll have to do it!

Am I the only person that knows that paula was axed because of her refusal to send drew to america vote and sent her home herself. simon is the boss and when he sat there and pleaded with nicole and paula to keep her and they refused it sealed their fate

Way to go Simon, I think you know exactly what your doing! Paula looks Coked-Up half the time anyway! I’m 62 yrs old and could come up with better responses than Nicole or Paula. Your what makes the show Simon! Atleast that why I watch. Keep up the good work Simon, can’t wait for what you have planned this next season! Great job Simon!!!!!!!

I would like to say that i think Simon made one of the bigest mistakes by letting paula abdul go. the other 2 needed to go but not paula. I think she has a large following that will hurt the x factor. And it was a bad choice to let har go. I would have let L A Reed go before PAULA.Simon and L A are like oil and vinegar what ever Simon likes LA don’t and what ever L A likes Simon don’t so he should have been the other person to go.

To Simon and the rest of the Producers of X-Factor,
Whoever advised you to do this moronic changes must be fired. If these changes were your actual idea then, I must ask you why you “fixed something that is not broken”? Firstly, you should be grateful that this new show here in the U.S. generated millions of viewers. Maybe not 20 million as you expected , but “it’s too early in the game”! Secondly, you should be grateful and thankful that there is a Paula Abdul, who possesses several positive adjectives, and the accidental pairing with Simon in the original A.I. subsequently worked out so well that some people tune in to X-Factor to also watch the flirtatious interaction between these two judges. The chemistry between Simon & Paula creates a lot of fireworks and excitement that is entertaining to most viewers. Why take that away from the viewing public? Thirdly, what turns a lot of people off is the fact that Simon and L.A tend to pick contestants with good looks without the ability to sing at all, that are very arrogant, and act juvenile. Thank God Melanie won because she can absolutely sing. Fourthly, it would be very helpful if all the judges limit their comments to 1-2 sentences so Steve didn’t have to rush the judges or cut them off. I think Steve did a great job in pacing the program, otherwise you would have been over your time slot allotted, just like what happened in A.I. years ago.
From a very disappointed viewer.

Did you ever notice how he seems to be a younger version of Elton John in all his mannerisms and speech? How did this man with no talen and a lot of money ever get to be this mogul? He must have a rich mummy or daddy.

he has a talent for spotting talent, and promoting it; and clearly knows a thing or two about music. there are a lot of talented people in the music business who aren’t actually singers or performers. i don’t think it’s fair to say he’s talentless. he got where he is through talent, not nespotism- like it, or him, or not.

Really Simon…. bring Paula back!!!!!!
Steve was often times very rude that I am not surprised that he was axed.
Honestly, I don’t see why there was an issue w.r.t. Nicole’s decision on Rachael. Other judges went with the tie-breaker so it’s not Nicole’s “fault” that Canty actually had more votes than Rachael. It just shows that they had decided on who they want to be in the top-xx and was floored when it didnt play out as expected!!! … That’s my two-cents…
BUT…… bring Paula back!

This is the biggest mistake that show could ever make. You can’t have Simon without Paula, it’s like having Jack without Rose, Superman without Lois Lane, Bonnie without Clyde.

I totally agree with this !! Simon is making a huge mistake firing Paula. I never though he would acually do this to his friend/buddy. Paula didn’t deserve this since she worked really hard and was a great mentor and judge. I wouldn’t trust Simon anymore…he is a Jerk !!!!!!

ITS EASY FOR PEOPLE TO SAY DONT DUMP HER BUT IF YOU HAD TO WORK WITH HER IT MAY BE ANOTHER STORY. THE WOMEN IS CLEARLY A FRUIT CAKE AND I THINK HE NEEDS SOMEONE IN THE RIGHT HEAD SPACE ON HIS SHOW NOT A WOMEN SEEKING ATTENTION 24/7
HE IS RIGHT TO DUMP PAULA ALONG WITH NICOLE WHO IS SELF CENTRED AND STEVE WHO WAS TOO BUSY CHASING NICOLE TO BE SEEING WHERE HE MESSED UP.

He has worked with her come on!!! he said she is the best judge he has ever worked with and that he could listen to her for hours. So what you’re saying is not true. He has made a huge mistake !!!!

Maybe you should get to know Paula a bit better, jerk, and don’t be a hypocrite. She’s not a “fruitcake”. Simon clearly loves her to have worked with her for 10 long years, and the reason for her departure is obviously not because he thinks she’s a diva.

Paula is completely baked out of her skull. Like a modern day Anna Nicole. She’s a hot mess trainwreck dumpster fire. I’m guessing her old record company paid in happy pills. Even an 80s burnout would accuse Paula of being an 80s burnout. Perhaps Simon fell, bumped his head, and forgot why Idol kicked her to the curb in the first place. Consider him reminded.

hahaha… i never heard the dumpster fire bit before… hahaha… i love paula, find her entertaining, but she does not have the ability to make tough choices usually. i loved her on idol and was furious when she left. even more furious when i saw the panel would be jlo and tyler… but then, it worked out really well. jlo has difficulty giving bad news, but she accepts it’s her job and tries really hard to get better at it. so, you know, there are things other than paula that will work. she’s funny and sweet- but if he needs something different for the show, i’d trust his judgment more than mine.
