Sarah Jessica Parker has definitely been one to commit a fashion faux pas, so this ensemble isn’t too out of the ordinary for this leading lady! At the amfAR New York Gala on Feb. 8 she wore a Pre-Fall 2012 Oscar de la Renta pink ball gown with a black leather Theyskens Theory jacket and white gloves. She finished the outfit with gray Manolo Blanik pumps.
Though the winter weather in New York is no joke, SJP could have checked the jacket and gloves at the door to showcase the dress and her iconic style!

There is too much going on with her ensemble…if you can call it that. It’s more like an, “I got dressed in the dark” MESS. Too many colors and textures. Colors: White, pink, grey, black and silver with the biker bracelet. The Black leather jacket: bad choice with the pink. There is feminine with the pink silk, old lady with the white gloves, biker with the jacket and chain, and plain butt-ugly with the purse. Her feet are too knobby and veiny for those shoes. Cover up those skin covered boney and skeletal feet. YUCK!

i’ve worn this outfit, more or less. it’s good, in theory. i’m not sure about the type of leather chosen- personally i would’ve liked a more buttery and lightweight version, but in general, it works for me. i can understand trying the stronger contrast- black with pink, tough with soft… it’s just not quite perfect for me, though i’d be happy to wear it, of course.
