Forget Selena Gomez! The CW is looking for a fresh face that mainstream audiences don’t know to be the lead of its new show
A TV version of Candace Bushnell‘s book series The Carrie Diaries has long been in the works at The CW, and now HollywoodLife.com has learned new exclusive details about the much-anticipated TV show.
“The show will definitely be shot in NYC and they want a fresh face to play Carrie,” our source at the network told us. “They are trying to avoid casting a known star because they don’t want the show to be about the star, they want it to be about Carrie.”
Selena Gomez was previously rumored to have been approached for the role, but it sounds like they’ve since gone in a different direction. Do YOU have any suggestions for who should be the new CW star?

my wife is jumping up and down about this show because she loves the books. we think that girl on you tube that does haunted sunshine is a perfect young carrie. she is as fresh faced as a babies bottom. lol

they should choose someone who actually looks like the carrie (sjp) we all know… not someone who is of a completely different ethnicity. it would change the story altogether. fresh face, cu-cu-curly hair and a REAL nose! Puh-lease!
