A mysterious uncharted island, a cute adventurous teen guy, a feisty teen girl and the hilarious hero — The Rock — all add up to adventure and pleasure for kids.

If any of your kids or tweens have even an iota of an adventurous spirit, they will be gripping their seats as devoted “Vernian” Sean (Josh Hutcherson) sets off on a dangerous journey to find the mysterious island that the infamous science fiction author wrote about in The Mysterious Island.

Sean is convinced his devoted adventurer grandfather Alexander (Michael Caine), who has been missing for two years, sent him an urgent message by Morse code to meet him on an uncharted island in the South Pacific.

Of course, no one knows this legendary island exists, but Sean’s new stepfather, Hank (Dwayne Johnson), insists on coming along to protect Sean — and good thing he does.

Hank has some extremely useful skills for finding and discovering the island, after having served in the Navy. And then again, his professional skills as a building contractor come in mighty handy too, as it turns out.

Gorgeous, brave Kailani (Vanessa Hudgens) and her loving dad Gabato (Luis Guzmán) end up getting forced along for the ride and yes you meet Sean’s eccentric granddad, Alexander.

Get ready for giant lizards and insects, a tropical paradise, lost civilizations and more.
