Chris Brown: First Grammy Performance Since Rihanna Assault

Chris Brown Grammys

Chris sang and danced his heart out at the ceremony — it was his first time at the show since his brutal 2009 assault of the pop princess.

Chris Brown thrilled the crowd at the 2012 Grammy Awards on Feb. 12 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles — his first time at the ceremony since his horrific 2009 beating of then-girlfriend Rihanna.

Chris, 22, sang and danced his way through his new single “Turn Up The Music,” and he did a great job. It’s VERY hard for us to forget what he did to Rihanna, 23, but we’re glad that he’s so focused on his career.

Amazing performance by CB. All the haters can go and eff off now. He’s got a Grammy, he is genuinely happy. Why are people too involved in their personal life? He is a singer. Focus on his music, not his life…

Way to go Chris, I feel like we all are learning from his events, himself included. We are annoyed at people who hold grudges when we do it all the time. I am sure there are plenty of things that our friends have accepted us doing that shouldn’t have been forgotten. I’m not saying what he did was excusable, but we all do our wrongs and we learn and grow from them and I feel like now is his time to grow and let go of the past and start flourishing on a new level.

i didn’t really like the performance because well he was singing live in the beginning and then lip-synched the rest of the performance, but the dancing was good as always, but i want him to sing live again, why is he not singing, he sounds good even when tired after dancing so i don’t get the lip-synching

I cannot believe they had Chris brown perform…..and twice no less! It seems just ridiculous too me! He beats up a woman AND fellow artist famously right before same award show THEN he no shows to perform?!?! Wtf ate they thinking!? Outrageous!

Why does it always have to come back to that? Yes, we all know that what he did was bad and should have never happened, but he will never be able to get on with his career fully if stories are always brought back to that time. Why couldn’t you have just said he had a great performance at the grammys? It shouldn’t even matter anymore. Like I have said before you try and connect anything and everything to get some sort of story.

Or maybe they simply feel that domestic abuse should not be forgotten or excused. The focus should be on Rihanna moving forward, not him.
